First, let me say I am not big into churches and their architecture. That said I could not help but be impressed ,even awed, by the incredible craftsmanship displayed in the stained glass and stone cutting.

The Elisabeth Shrine that is in this church is a beautifully crafted masterpiece in gold made in the Rhineland in C13. There are also fine stained glass windows telling St Elisabeth's life story.

A very nice old Evangelical church built in Gothic style in 1235 . Was built in honor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary. Her tomb is in the church . Admission free to the main hall and tickets needed for other parts .

I'd recommend going here with a guide - our guide told us a lot of really interesting history about Marburg and St. Elizabeth here. Inside is a traditional, old church.
