We came to see exhibition of early work by Gerhard Richter (nice) and took hours to see exhibition on Mushrooms, on wildlife (keen build-up), but in particular the art collection from middle ages to expressionism and modern art. Real gem in nice city.

Wonderful collection of expressionist paintings. However, a better designed leaflet with ‘highlights’ and a colour code would be helpful. It was not easy to distinguish permanent collection from borrowed /temporary items, and unrelated exhibits. The gallery/museum is currently undergoing building work which will probably improve...More

We went out of our way to go to the Museum looking forward to the one collection -- Jawlensky--they tout only to find it closed. The desk clerk laughed about it. I was not laughing as I paid 20 euro for a very, very mediocre...More

The building in itself is quite worth the visit. An old, art-noveau building, but modernized throughout without loosing its character. Interesting exhibitions, small permanent art collection, and a cafe, all worth visiting

Among the German cities Wiesbaden, perhaps is one of the most "Russian". Here Dostoevsky has lost all his money in casino and was therefore forced to sit down and work to create one of his literary masterpieces. There is a famous Russian Church on Neroberg...More

A very important place for the art history of Germany. Here was (1945 until 1952) Central Collecting Point Wiesbaden (besides Munich) storing old masters after the US Army found them in the salt mines of Merkers. Tons of paintings, sculptors and archeological Artifacts all restituted...More

The Wiesbaden museum has a fabulous collection, and the visiting collections are always interesting and worth the trip. The offer free entrance on the first Saturday of the month, so if it's raining (as it so often is), this is the place to be.

I really enjoyed my visit to Museum Wiesbaden. The exhibitions were very interesting, and I spent hours wandering around looking at all of the beautiful art work on display. A warning for fellow haters of spiders - be careful wandering around the Natural History part...More
