Stopped in to see the Rathaus. In the main lobby, there are 4 diaramas of the city stretching from the 1700s to the modern day. It's very interesting to see how the city changed and the destruction caused during WWII. The Rathaus also has a...More

The new (Rathaus) Town Hall is on the banks of a small lake. It is outside of the main centre where the old Rathaus is. Bot towers at the ends are in scaffolding when we went.

What a stunning building! We walked there from our hotel near Hannover hauptbahnhof via the Red Thread (red line painted on the road that serves as a self guided walking tour). The building itself is magnificent and usually you can take the lift to the...More

Local friends live near the Neue Rathaus (and "new" is a relative term because the building is still very old!) So we took a stroll, wandering through the foyer. The city models from different times were eye-opening, especially since 80% of the city was destroyed...More

This palace is the actual town hall. It's a beautiful place to visit and to Walk around the park for free. Actually in restauration you can't visit the tour which I was told that offers a beautiful sightsee of Hannover city.

I didn't get a chance to go inside the city hall, but I enjoyed the view of the building from the park.

This place offers a lot of information about II World War and there is a maquette of the city which shows us how big and organised this city was during that horrible period.

We had a lovely trip here. Inexpensive tickets to the the top to see stunning views over Hannover. Approx 7 steps to the quirky lift then you have to go up a spiral staircase to the first level. You can then choose to walk more...More
