The zoo was a fantastic walk,as well as a spot where I saw animal species I had not seen before. The gift shop was huge. Finally, most of the staff were fluent in English.

Great Zoo with plenty of room for each animal and nicely embedded in the surrounding nature. Food is okay. Loved the Popcorn, coffee and hot chocolate.

We were there on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at 9:30. We were received by a man and a young girl. We asked if they spoke English, and the man was very rude, he turned his back on us and said in German: "Go to England then ..." I felt a kind of racism on his part. But the girl was nicer and guided us to the ticket office. The zoo is relatively small, seemingly untidy and the animals look very sad in some small pens. The food inside is expensive and poor in quality. For 20 euros per person, it's not worth it.

This zoo is amazing. The animals are clearly well cared for but it also has a lot of educational features. Set back in a forest area it is a lovely place to spend the day.

We had a great visit here. Plenty of (what appeared to be) happy animals for the kids to see. Lots of play areas dotted around the site for a change of focus. We arrived around midday and had to leave by 16:30 (due to travel arrangements) and probably only managed around half of the site. Didn’t try any of the many food outlets (other than ice cream) so unable to comment here.

I grew up not far from here and just love how much the Zoo has developed over the years. We had mixed weather on our visit, but with the protection of the woodland and indoor areas to visit it wasn't a problem. It was a busy day, yet the Zoo didn't feel busy as there are so many places to go. We saw many impressive animals, who seemed to have generous space and clean facilities. The only suggestions I would have would be to make more routes around the park to follow. as it's big and entwined it would be helpful, and then there were not many people about who we could talk to about the animals. I think the day we visited (Nov. 1st) there was only 1 or two feeding sessions, and they were not well advertised.

If you go to the zoo, allow lots of time - it's really big and there is a lot of walking required. The animals are amazing, of course!

This is a fantastic zoo with a very wide range of animals. There were also many interesting and unusual displays like the moles and the ant nests. The paths and gardens were stunning and you could walk sometimes over the top of cages as well as around the animals or next to them. The zoo is still being extended.

If you have young kids there are many play areas as well. Our 12 year old did not use the play areas but was fully engaged with this zoo - the animals were on the whole easy to find. We spent about 5 hours in the zoo.

Be aware that as is quite usual in Germany there was no catering for English speakers (international tourists in general), not even a map. This is a world class zoo and if you are in the area don't miss it.

My husband, our little daughter and I were in Osnabrück only to visit this amazing zoo. We got from the central railway station to the zoo by foot. The walk took one hour and was pretty nice one, in particular, the last part - through a park.
The entrance price is OK, €20 for an adult; we decided to buy a Family Year Pass (€109 + we had a coupon) because it is worth returning as often as you can!
I warn you there is a LOT of walking. Wear comfortable shoes for sure! The zoo is pretty big, we spent about 4 hours there and saw around a half maybe. Plus if you go there with kids, plan that you spend a lot of time at the playgrounds which are so exciting!
Top exhibits for us: rhinos, lions, moles (!) and pelicans. All animals are well-kept. The zoo exhibits mimic the animals natural habitats. In the booklets issued when buying a ticket, you can find the information about the feeding time to watch the animals at this time.
The zoo is great for kids of any ages. Apart from the amazing playgrounds, there is a contact part of the zoo where we had a lot of fun meeting goats. You can buy some food for them for €1 and have a lot of fun feeding them.
Lots of places to grab a snack, three restaurants to have a lunch, clean accessible bathrooms as well as baby changing rooms & lots of dog bowls where your dog can drink some water.
We highly recommend visiting Zoo Osnabruck!
