This is a lovely area near the cruise port and train station that caters to both tourists and locals. We sampled a couple of the restaurants and were not disappointed and peeked in several of the shops. A fun afternoon.

The Alter Strom is the old channel that separates many unique shops & restaurants that line the area offering various dining options & souvenir opportunities. Great for people watching & street photography.

We were here on a german holiday an Am Strom was flooded by locals with many heading to the beach. The atmosphere was fun filled and appears festive too. Despite the crowd this street by the waters is still scenic with its many old and...More

Nice 'tourist' area near the cruise ship terminal. If you walk into town you will find much better shops.

Pretty seaside town. Stopped here whilst on a Baltic cruise. Enjoyed a walk along the promenade, which is lined with numerous cafes, restaurants, and numerous tourist shops. Quaint but very touristy.

This is a lovely area to walk about and admire the boats, look in the shops or grab a bite to eat. It was busy but no problems. A must see for tourists when in the area.

This was one pitstop on our Baltic cruise where you could literally walk off the boat and the entertainment was at your fingertips; a sand sculpting contest, tourist information, shops, restaurants, the beach a short walk away, the train station to Rostock.

if you're hungry and if you think its too early to go a restaurant and you want to spend some time outside before going then its a best place. Since you so many choices for food and drinks. like McD to restaurant to TakeAway.

Very touristic place.... you will find fish shops and restaurant, bars and fashion shops all around. Price is higher than normal. But a nice scenery if you like boats and sea.
