Went to Aachen to see the sites, went to the city hall. Cost about 12 euro each for me and the wife. Beautiful building on the outside. Don't think the inside is worth the cost. Good news is that my kids were free.

We stopped at this location and paid for the tour. I thought it would be longer than what it took, since the outside of the building looked so huge. I would still recommend visiting, as the paintings on the top floor are beautiful.

This is a beautiful building set in the walking streets of Aachen. There's a substantial markt platz with restaurants to sit outside for a coffee. After you can walk down the cobblestone streets to the Dom for a truely unique cathedral visit.

Sitting on top of Charlemagne's palace it is the most beautiful mayor house ever. Worth's a visit if you are in Aachen.

Stunning building from the outside. Unique architecture and majestic construction with a picturesque square. The inside is not that impressive, in my opinion.

It's so nice to sit and just look at the beautiful facade of the Aachen Rathaus. We never tire of it. Such history. And the statue of Charlemagne in front adds even more charm, character and history. What more can one ask for?

Entrance fee is €5 per person which I found a little expensive for what you actually got. You walked through 5 rooms with a short paragraph of information...not what I was expecting. There are some beautiful views across to the Dom.

A great range of Xmas market stalls, lots of opportunity to purchase personalised gifts, food, gluhwein , Xmas decorations etc etc. Aachen has character atmosphere and is very easy to reach via the railway system. There is so much to see that a day trip for Xmas... More

The Rathaus only has about 4-5 rooms open to the public which you can enter for 5EUR. However, that being said as a former palace they are rather spectacular. I would recommend this as a short 0.5-1hr activity whilst visiting the rest of the town centre. Particularly if you need a pause to get out of the rain.
