This whimsical fountain is easy to find if you are strolling through the Town Square area. Each figure represents something important to Aachen...the Market woman - trade and commerce,.... the Professor - teaching , to name only two. The figures have moveable joints and all ages stop and enjoy moving these puppets into different poses. A clever interactive piece of... More

There a a fair few fountains scattered around the center of Aachen, many of which you can touch but this one is actually interactive. You can move the appendages of the figures on the fountain which encourages young children to engage with the fountain. They can enjoy the water, figures and the surrounding markets. It is such a pleasant fountain... More

It's free and outside right at the heart of the center of Aachen. The foundation is definitely different and not it of the way to visit.

We did a short stop in Aachen and looked for the statues as I read it was an attraction here. Cute concept and fun to try. Many people just pass it and are unaware that these are puppets...

Difficult to know how to review this (the puppenbrunnen). It's obviously listed in the city guide because reams and reams of tourists came up to it and had their photo taken while I was there. They are bronze characters above a well and the thing that makes them unusual is that they have moving parts. So you can move the... More

Excellent sculpture of the different figures. Hard to know what it is about unless you have your own guide book as with all other fountains and sculptures in the city

Something for bored children of all ages including wannabe grandparents like me. Not sure how you would get your children to walk past these characters without a fuss. You can play with them, or speaking as an adult position these iron puppet characters.
