The Rheinboulevard is a lovely promenade on the east bank of the River Rhine. There's a fantastic array of shops, restaurants and cafes along the promenade for about 200 metres around the Hohenzollern Bridge. The boulevard is well paved for walking and cycling and a great place to a stroll while the summer lasts.

Most of the main attraction in Cologne are on the other side of the Rhine, so walking along Rheinboulevard gives a nice perspective on these.

We came here in late afternoon and stayed to see the sunset over the city. It was a warm and clear day and the views were stunning. This is a favourite spot for locals and tourists alike to relax and take in the atmosphere. Highly recommended break from the busy areas.
We crossed the Deutz bridge from the Old Town and returned over the Hohenzollern bridge which was very busy with lots of people on cycles and scooters.
The sun sets directly ahead so take sunglasses.

It seems the local government wanting to give options for locals as well as tourists to enjoy the city centre area in many ways. After years visitors always directed and attracted to the old city centre area to see the most of main attractions of Cologne, but visitors never able to see all of the iconic buildings altogether in one frame or view, simply because they are in the city centre area, at the locations, very close to the objects and blocked their views by other buildings. By standing on the other side of Rhine River, now visitors at least at 200 – 300m away from the old city centre and able to see all of the attractions in one single view or frame, from long shot and not close up, they can see now at least the four buildings, Cologne Cathedral, Great St Martin, Rathaus, and Central Station in one photo frame, brilliant. This place will also have effect to disperse the peak number of the visitors which usually go to the old city centre, now they have more places to go and disperse the concentration at old city area. For locals definitely this place offer a very nice river front walks, with benches and open spaces, for strolling, exercising, meeting friends, or just sitting and enjoy the view over the river, fantastic. The river walk is between Hohenzollern Rail Bridges and Deutzer Bridge, on the east side of the Rhine, approx. half km long.

One of the most spectacular views of the city of Cologne is over the bridges Deutzer side of the River Rhine along Freitreppe Kolner Rheinboulevard.
From this riverfront location you can take in the wonderful bridges such as the Hohenzollern Brucke of the Deutzer brucke and the wonderful Old Town ,all in all its a great area of this city to check out if you're planning a holiday to Cologne.

Freitreppe Kolner Rheinboulevard is a really pleasant walk along the waterfront over the Deutzer side of the River Rhine.
The views of the river and bridges are lovely, the architecture is mostly modern but theres some great older structures here such as the abbey ,I love the views over to the historic Old Town and Frankenwerft, a superb walk ,most definitely well worth checking out if your planning a holiday to Cologne.

It is well worth your time to cross over the Rhine and stroll along this promenade. The views across the river are fantastic with plenty of photo ops.

This is a very relaxing and restful spot along the Rhine, just across from the cathedral.. You can walk the Hohenzollern Bridge or take the train over from Central to Messe/Deutz station (one stop). If you do, walk toward the Cologne Triangle Building, that is the round building and in front of that is the Hyatt Hotel and from there down the river is this interesting promenade or boulevard. The area has been made with steps down to the water and sitting area for people to watch sunsets, relax, and take in the beauty across the Rhine to the Cathedral and opposite side of the river.

What we understand to be a newly constructed addition to the east bank, it extended south of the railroad bridge to the next bridge.

After a nice walk across the bridge, there are lots of walls and steps where you can sit and chat and watch the sun go down behind the wonderful Kolner Dom. Loved it here.
