I didn't expect it to be that rich with modern art. They have some very worldwide known paintings. You can easily spend hours here. It was not too busy, so we had time to enjoy every piece. Otto Fix exhibition starts as of 11 Feb.

I first visited K21. I can say that it was a bit too modern for me as I prefer late 19th to early 20th century art, but it was still quite enjoyable. I made sure that I had the combo ticket and instead of waiting...More

We visited the K20 and, although not massive fans of modern art, we enjoyed many of the paintings. The visit was somewhat spoilt by the surly staff who insisted that we stand at a metre from the paintings or an alarm would go off. If...More

Can't believe we almost overlooked this art gallery; it doesn't get the publicity it warrants. It has a huge tick list of German expressionists and American 20C artists. Well presented to show off each piece properly, be it widely spaced in huge rooms, or side...More

There are three houses that fall under the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen banner, this one on Grabbeplatz 5, is known as K20. You can, as I did buy a combined ticket for K20 and K21. A free shuttle is available to transport you from one museum to...More

Firstly, it seems there are all kinds of pictures and reviews of the K21 mixed in here. They are completely different and at opposite ends of the city! The K20 is the main gallery and has one of the best collections of early 20th Century...More

I visited this museum to spend a relaxing mid-summer afternoon. The exhibition of Andreas Gursky photos was well organised and interesting, even if there weren't a lot of pictures. The section dedicated to '900 paintings was nice but not so exciting, there aren't famous artworks...More

Not a huge fan of modern art, but I very much enjoyed this collection. The special collections were brilliant, the regular collection was distinguished, and the staff were very helpful (they were also quite polite when I unknowingly overstepped bounds...twice). I have a new appreciation...More
