Typical, nice to see

This place has a very typical german architecture and is nice to see. Especially if you are lucky enough to visit it during a festival or market, this places gets very charming.

Ok, if I am getting this straight Burgplatz is where the wheel is and is next to the Rhine. Marketplatz is further in the center of Altstadt, and Carlsplatz is the market that is more towards Konigsallee. Burgplatz was where we first came to and had our first gluewein and hot chocolate. Needless to say, it holds a special place... More

During my visit this area was very colorfully decorated and there were loads of people as there was Chinese festival going on. There were many stalls and a large stage was set on the main street. This place has good access to Rhine river and cruise ride. Also close to many restaurants and underground metro train.

Burgplatz is in the center of oldtown, so it's fun to walk around and look at the old buildings. There are also a lot of cute restaurants to grab a beer, coffee or some food. This is also near the "longest bar in the world," which is really just a street full of old and new bars alike. Great at... More

If you love sculptures/history/historic buildings..then this place you will enjoy as the sculpture stands proud in the middle of the square. And the old, historic town hweautiful finishes the place off a treat. Also, at the weekends, the square is a favourite, used for Concerts/Bands and foodstalls. Where 100s of people gather and mix, enjoy life, enjoy the food, music... More

Situated in the middle of altstadt, this square can transport you back to another time. Try to se it on a Monday or early in the day before the crowds get to it. The castle of the Count of Berg and the later Dukes stood here until it was destroyed in 1888. One of the old castle tower is still... More

This area borders Bolkerstrasse, the nightlife area, and is scant minutes from the riverfront. Burgplatz is beautiful, with a mix of an old, yet contemporary feel- but, mostly old. Ther are many restaurants to choose from, a few souvenir shops, and windows with beautiful, red-hued flowers along the sills. This is a very relaxing area that we passed through along... More
