Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This impressive cathedral is almost 800 years old and contains quite a few beautiful details (in particular the astronomic clock).

BUT - having seen so many great churches around the world, St. Paulus Dom doesn’t stand out. It’s worth a short visit, all right, but don’t stay too long: It’s kind of gloomy, sorry to say.

Gothic looking cathedral that is very elaborate from the outside. Well maintained and a centre piece of the city. Ladder lit at the side at night. Great features like the old cages where bad people were placed to die in years gone by

Large church - not as exciting as Cologne Cathedral or St. Lamberti Church which is just around the corner.
But the church with its Astronomical clock is definitely worth a visit

This cathedral build in the middle of the 13th century was wholly destroyed during the bombardments in the last year of WW II, only the beautiful astronomical clock dating from 1560 was left intact because of the arch above it had withstood the bombing.
At noon after the door opens figures representing the three wise men will come out, turn to bow to Mary and the child Jesus, and vanish through the next door. This happens twice in succession. We especially came back at a quarter to twelve to see it, very well worth our while, be there on time, many groups of students and tourists will be there too.
Very beautiful are also the modern stained glass windows by Professor George Meistermann on the east side.
On the West side the old baroque altar stands.

Nice cathedral in the center of Muenster; is very peaceful and has a wonderful sundial inside. Be sure to avoid the beggars outside the doors, they can be very persistent

We visited the Cathedral and we were impressed with the architecture, the history and the astronomical clock. The music from the choir was nice too, it helped us relax after the long walk in the beautiful city.
