We saw this church – hidden behind a wall - during a walk along Nordallee. It’s the church of the former Clarisses convent Sankt Maria Magdalena, built in the 18th century in gothic style. The church is dedicated to missionaries to Africa. It is small and cozy. There is not much to be seen in it although it dates back to the 18th century. May be the tower is its best asset as it is more ancient. It is not far from Porta Nigra so it can be visited during a stroll. However if missed, not much will be missed.…

A simple Gothic 3-sided closed hall church built 1730. In front of the west side a low Tower dating back to 1495. The Baroque altar furnishings burned in 1944. The Church of the missionary society (known as “White Fathers, after their habit) had been for decades the "Church of worship" for the city of Trier. 1928 New pneumatic Stahlhuth organ with 8 stop tabs, divided over 2 musical keybords and pedalboard, similar to the one at "Kloster der Ewigen Anbetung" (Adoratione Perpetua). A few years ago the Holy Communion was moved to the St. Gangolf Church, but even today it remains a prayer Center for Africa, as well as gathering room for Bible discussions and Eucharistic Celebration for the concerns and problems of Africa: Apostle Paul knew that all success is God's work and said "I have planted, Apollo watered, but God gave the increase" (1.
