The park is amasing and of course worth visiting. I was there from Dresden and would like to give some recommendations about ways to get. 1. You can take a direct train from Dresden to Kurort Rathen (35 min) , then cross the river on ferry. It will cost you 13.50 euro (day roundtrip ticket) and, 1.80 euro for ferry,... More

The sandstone formations are unique and create a landscape which you dont expect in Germany. therefore, it has attracted paiinters, especially from the Romantic period. There is a trail called Painters trail. If you are not an experienced hiker, I guarantee you will be swearing a lot on the first day. There are scary climbs, steep ladders, deep ravines and... More

We loved this park and the cool little hiking trail was mostly paved making it easier for our younger kids to negotiate. We've been back twice and we enjoy it every time.

You need a car to get here. We came with local friends. In the winter it is not crowded. Everything was open and accessible. The bastil built over 100years ago is a fun hike/walk on a well maintained trail with an interconnected section of bridges, maybe 2km total rt. The rock formations are very beautiful and well suited for selfies.... More

We spent 2 days here, once in June and again took our grown children there in Sept 2015. It's an amazing place. The path up to the top is gentle and well maintained and the views from the top are breathtaking. Note we were there in June 2015 and Sept 2015.

This is a great outdoor activity. There are several trails to hike. I recommend a walk to the bridge. Optionally you can follow the trail down to the river. The stairs and walkways are easy to walk on with railings.

This park is about 2 hours from Prague but well worth the day trip. See amazing sights and learn alot about the area from Jan, the tour operator. Highlights include an amazing hike up to a natural bridge (with a beer at the summit!), a guided boat ride down a river canyon and the incredible sand stone features that feel... More

We took a day trip from Prague through Cayman tours. It was beautiful and we were lucky to have great weather. We went to two different parts: the German side and the Czech side. The hike isn't strenuous. It's fun and the views were amazing!

Take the 200 year old elevator up from Bad Schandau, then hike up for about 45 minutes, walk a little more for about 15 minutes and you will reach the open field shown in the display picture. Carry you picnic lunches, water and beer and relax in the scenic atmosphere.
