A lot of industrial exhibtis from Chemnitz' industrial past ("The German Manchester") are shown, most prominent the machines that were used to produce different kinds of textiles. Many of the old machines do still work and are shown in action from time to time. All in all this is a really interesting place to visit and certainly something you shouldn't miss when in Chemnitz.

Wanted to visit Chemnitz for some time and selected the Industry Museum as a good place to start. Not really suitable for families but great for middle aged or retired couples. Our satnav took us straight to the spacious on site car park and we headed first to the cafe. Think I made a bad order as menu on the board was only in German and I made some errors in translation!!! Left half of it. Very reasonably priced museum and plenty of displays with both German and English writing. Not dynamic but interesting if you’re into that sort of thing. Spent about an hour in the museum and would have struggled to be there for much longer. Still, an enjoyable and interesting experience overall.
