Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's a nice replacement statue honoring this excellent composer. The Nazis had destroyed the original statue due to Mendelssohn's Jewish ancestry. Having converted, he was a practicing Christian but even if you had one Jewish grandparent you were considered Jewish and so the Nazis tried to erase him and his music.

So yes, multi media exhibits (special mention must go to the multi-track presentation where one can conduct and re-mix the recordings, as you follow the scores!) auf Deutsch and in English, occasional concerts (though with limited seating on account of the virus), a very friendly staff, and of course the history of Mendelssohn. Just very well done. Even if you’ve never heard of him, it’s worth the visit.

The Mendelssohn statue is directly to the front of the church and sits on top of a ten foot pillar as is life size itself. Around the pillar are angels and figurines playing musical instruments and makes for a lovely memorial.

Visited on Sunday 1st October and found this Statue hidden away by accident, another part of this towns history worth seeking out.

A very beautiful monument located in a small green area. Mendelssohn Bartholdy worked in Leipzig for several years - so it's great that the city remembers him. The monument is very conventional, but also very well made.

Monument located in a small garden behind the church of San Tommaso, dedicated to the figure of the famous German musician Felix Mendelssohn. The monument consists of the statue of the composer and other statues arranged around the base, depicting a female figure and some cherubs intent on playing musical instruments. Pleasant and harmonious work.
