I have taken walking tours all over Europe for many years, and this is the absolute best walking tour that I have ever experienced.
My guide Henrich, a Leipzig native, was knowledgeable about all aspects of Leipzig history, architecture, music, art, literature, and culture. I took the English tour, and Henrich's English is perfect.
The tour started at the Alte Rathaus Clock Tower in the Market Square and lasted two hours. Highlights of the walk around Leipzig Zentrum included the Alte Börse, Goethe Memorial, Leipzig University, St. Thomas Church, St. Nicholas Church, and Nikolaisaule. The passageways throughout the city were quite fascinating. Henrich had lots of photos to share showing change in Leipzig over time.
Particularly compelling were Henrich's narratives about growing up in Leipzig; the Peaceful Revolution of Autumn 1989, when Henrich was 11 years old; and the rebuilding of a church-like structure, destroyed during the GDR era, on the Leipzig University campus.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a great overview of this wonderful city. It is well worth the tour price.

We came to hear the Gewandhaus orkester and had the morning free and booked the walking tour
After 2 hours with Richard we feel like real experts on the musical history of Leipzig,as well as finding our way round all the major sites, and getting a marvellous introduction to the city.

Our family (2 parents and 3 teen kids) had an incredible tour with Heinrich. Leipzig is a great city and we learned so much - including the musical history, the trading/commerce roots, Eastern German culture and history (including a great perspective on the Peaceful Revolution), and World War 2.
Time flew as the pace was good and the whole family had fun along the way.
We would highly recommend Heinrich and We Guide Leipzig!

The We-Guide-Leipzig tour was unquestionably the best city tour that we had in Germany. We arranged for a private cycling tour and spent part of the first day walking around the points of interest in the Old City and then later in the afternoon bicycling in the south and eastern suburbs. The second day we toured the residential areas and beautiful parks to the west of the city and historical points of interest. The guides were educated at the University of Leipzig and know the history of the city from the Middle Ages to the present time, including a very personal and fascinating view of the 1989 freedom protests that contributed to the fall of the East German government. The guides are also very flexible, and worked to design a tour around our interests. Leipzig is a very interesting city and one of the fasting growing in Germany today. I highly recommend not only visiting the city, but arranging a tour with We-Guide-Leipzig! RW - Park City, UT

My partner and I went on a We Guide Leipzig tour on a short break to Leipzig. We were the only ones on the tour and Heinrich gave a really enthusiastic and insightful tour of the city - despite rain and later snow!
A great tour to learn about the history of the city.

We did a tour in the old city and had a amazing time. Not knowing so much about the city before we felt like knowing the place afterwards. Heinrich had a lot of personal stories to tell and we can really recommend the tour.

After doing some research online. We decided to book a tour with "We guide Leipzig" and we didn't regret our choice. I sent an email through and almost instantly received a response from Heinrich. Heinrich met us at the train station as we were the only people booked. Heinrich gave us a fascinating insight into what make Leipzigs heart beat. I can highly recommend booking a trip with this company.

We had an amazing tour with Heinrich. We heard so much about the city’s history and culture that we could achieve with months of continous reading, and even more, stories that just a real Leipziger can tell you. Thank You for the great tour!

Visting Leipzig only for two days I am more than thankful to have stumbled across this amazing tour guide. After three hours of touring the city I found myself with a completely new understanding of not only Leipzig's but East Germany's history. Keep up your amazing perfomance, Heinrich!
