This is a beautiful park-like cemetery of about 82 hectares to the south of Leipzig. It is just a delightful, peaceful place to have a walk and enjoy the surroundings.
There are some lovely trees, including ginkgo, and rhododendrons up to 4 metres high. You...More
Quite nice place, monumental cementary where walk around and get lost in your thoughts. You may find in the middle an impressive church, which unfortunately you can't visit. Lack of information and...toilettes
It is strange to recommend to visit a cemetery like a tourists attraction, but it is worth. On a daytime, of course :)

A tranquil cemetery with many interesting and beautiful memorials. The cemetery also includes a memorial to those soldiers from the local regiment who fell in the First World War (as well as some individual graves to soldiers who died in WW1).

One of the most beautiful cemeteries I've seen. It's more like a park with lots of flowers, if you visit at springtime. There's a lake and a beautiful building in the middle of the cemetery, with a Mediterranean atmosphere. It's located near the Volkerschlachtdenkmal.
Although it might sound a bit creepy to visit a cemetery just for tourism this one actually worths it.
Since it's next to the Volkerschlachtdenkmal it is a very good option to combine both visits in one shot.
