A museum disproportionally big, given the size of the city in which it dwells; but more the better! It's quite varied, with exhibitions ranging from Antiquity to very modern ones. I was really surprised by the size of the Museum. Kiel is not a very big city and having a roomy Museum like this. They have some respectable work inside, also a lot of experimental works and shows. A lot of space is available for workshops and classes.

As we are not any true 'art lovers' we went through the gallery quite quickly but I would say its collection was quite huge (considering the size of Kiel) and well installed (thinking about natural light etc.) There is also a workshop place where you can sit and create some drawings.

After a nice walk along the canal you can stop at this gallery. The staff are very nice and helpful. The art is a mix of antiquities and local artists. It is quite small but still worthvthe visit.

This art museum is not bad, although the exhibits were a little sparse when I visited. You have to pay to get into the main part of the museum, but the antique wing (Roman/Greek artifacts, etc.) is actually free, so check that out if you're on a budget. Outside to the south of the museum is a nice park with... More
