Wonderful visit which started with a guide explaining each of the five keyboard instruments and then playing an excerpt of Bach on each of them. The guide presented the information in both German and English. The chance to watch an organist using the full capacities of an organ projected onto 3 screens in the video room was spell-binding. The listening... More

This is great stop when in Thuringia even if museums are not your thing. You'll learn as much as you like about the master musician Bach, his family and times, plus the history of musical instrumentation. You start off admiring the ancient instruments exhibits, then comes a delightful demonstrative concert of keyboards. Next you tour at your own pace the... More

This museum is OK. It has some good ways to show Bach and his time, and the museum is nice with an old part and a modern part. Sometimes it is very disturbing with different music in the same room so it gives us a challenge to get into the details of the music they play for us. It is... More

Was there in a rainy day after having a walk to Wartburg with some friends. No one was really interested in classic music but we all found it very nice and interesting. the concert with historic instruments was the highlight.

This little place has an amazing amount off history and knowledge available. Great exhibits for music enthusiasts and if your not into music the history off this cosy little place will still interest you.

Johann Sebastian Bach's birthplace is one of Eisenach "must" attractions. Somebody said that it is not his birthplace and even his family have ever lived there, but some other Bach have :). This museum consist of old house, what is from Bach's time and new modern museum. This is worth to visit, if you are interested of Bach.

If you like music or history, go to Bachhaus. It's interesting to see various things connected with J. S. Bach. A 20-minute concert is included for each visitor and you are given a time to attend. When it was our turn, we heard a demonstration of 5 small organs, harpsichords and clavichords used in homes and village churches. At the... More

If you love Bach you can spend a whole day here listening to music reading etc. The exhibit does a beautiful job explaining the different Chandra's classical music and how Bach affected the rest of the developing musical world.

My favorite part was when they played the various period instruments, especially the small organ which comes from the region and quite possibly was played by Bach himself in his lifetime.

Altough there is more than enough to fill a museum on Bach this was a bit small. I remember the theory of the numbers in the music. I thought it was a bit thought after.
