We drove across Germany from Cologne in order to see this museum. We checked first to be sure it was open on a Sunday. To our great surprise and disappointment we found it closed, not for a day but for a year! Do not make...More

Too bad! I expected it to have more collection. The museum is really small and it is not that well scenographed! The collection is very interesting but poorly labeled! The timeline could have been much more interesting, even if in this ONE room! I also...More

If you are interested in Bauhaus history, I advise you to start here. Because Gropius started his world-changing design stream here before relocating to Dessau. The museum is rather small, but definitely worth to visit. It is a part of Weimar soul.

A good overview to the history of Bauhaus, their philosophy and examples of work in all the areas. Audioguide available.

We thought it would be more architectural, but it was chairs and some paintings. For us not worthwhile

Knowing something of the history of the Bauhaus and Weimar, I was looking forward to visiting the Bauhaus. It was smaller than I had imagined. I didn't learn anything which I did not know from previous studies.

Although small, this little exhibition gives a good introduction to the Bauhaus style and school of design. It is good for an hour or so maximum. There is a small shop on site. I think you can book a tour with one of the current...More

This museum is basically one large room. In it are examples of the Bauhaus furniture, household items, and architecture. The museum gives a thorough overview of the movement. There is a small second room with a revolving exhibit. Be sure to get the audio tour...More

The location is quite small so there are a limited number of items to look at. Despite this limitation the exhibit provides a nice overview of the Bauhaus movement and the different facets (architecture, art and furniture) They are working on a new museum building...More

This exposition is revealing the basic of the Bauhaus ideas and movement. Maybe still a current mission in the actual society. Worthwhile to explore, even if just to wonder how current challenges were already present about 100 years ago.
