Our hotel was located on this road and it's one of the main thoroughfares in the city which leads you to the coast and also to tourist attractions further inland. Many shops, cafes and eateries on this road and also the side roads which branch off it (one of which leads to the central market & another to the Ramblas) and hidden squares. It's nice and shady in the heat as well and there is a beautiful old tree which which has a write up on it. The Paseo is bustling in the evenings and weekends. One weekend, the Pride parade actually went down so we were able to see it from the hotel room! Easy to get your bearings when you're on the Paseo de Almeria!

We were staying outside Torre del Mar and decided to take a day trip to Almeria as we hadn’t been for several years. Plenty of parking options and the walk was lovely in the shaded Paseo. Lots of options to eat and drink and there seemed to be a bit of a positive buzz in the town following the long lockdown. Have to say that the one thing that struck me was that it is not as clean as in previous years with lots of litter lying around. The walk along the beaches was lovely as well.

.

The main shopping street of Almeria, it is where you see everyone carrying a bag full of their shopping - shoes, dresses, jeans, jumpers, whatever!

There are the usual shops that you see in any high street both in Spain and in the UK, but also a lot of more exclusive and individual shops.

Up the top end, near the Puerta de Purchena you'll also find loads of bars and restaurants. Further down, you'll have to venture into a side street to find somewhere to have a coffee and rest your weary feet.

An attractive place to flash your credit card.

As other reviewers have mentioned the Paseo starting at Puerta de Purchena is not next to the beach but is one of the main shopping streets in the old town. It is well shaded by trees and has a range of outlets from familiar High Street brands like Zara and H & M to more upscale boutiques. There are many cafes and bars on the street or in the interesting little side streets off the Paseo. Starting at the top end just around the corner from the Central Market the street leads all the way down to the Plaza de Emillio Perez just a few yards from the Port. Reviewers who mention the beachside bars etc are maybe thinking of the Playa Ciudad Luminosa.

The avenue is tree lined on either side, which is great in the heat. There are lots of shops like Zara, Mango, which have excellent sales in July and August. There are lots of tapas bars, banks and restaurants on the avenue. Unfortunately on a Sunday there is virtually nothing open.

I don't do shopping if I can help it!
Well - if I need a new pair of shoes or some more beer then I do venture to the shops and I do go with the missus to do the food shop!
My wife loves shopping in Almería, particularly in the Paseo and the little streets emanating from it. I usually leave her to her own devices for a couple of hours - she shops whilst I go for a walk and a beer.
I must admit the Paseo is not bad for a shopping street! It is pleasantly tree-lined and has a number of cafes.
I have been known to shop here - I have purchased shirts in 'Springfields' and cigars in one of the tobacconists.
There are a number of places to get refreshment - quite a few are at the top of the street at Plaza Puerta de Purchena.

We took a relaxing walk along the paseo on a Sunday evening. Lots of locals and tourists were enjoying the scenery and shops and restaurants along the walk. A few vendors set up shop along the walk. Also took in a beautiful sunset.

Lovely paseo, stretches for 15km. good to walk/run sunbathe. Not a lot to see or do otherwise.
It's very flat, bicycles available to hire. Probably the best way to traverse its entirety

One of the beautiful places of Almeria.
I enjoyed a long walks during the day or watching the sunset.
They serve good tapas in restaurant along the paseo and i enjoyed also nice breakfast and lunch in many restaurants.
At the end of the beach i bayed some souvenirs from kiosks.
I visited Almeria for 3 years and every day of my stay in here i loved to walk by paseo.

These reviews confuse the real Paseo de Almeria which is the main shopping street with one way traffic, well trimmed "round" trees, many beautiful old kiosks and many bars, cafes and restaurants with the Paseo Maritimo Carmen de Burgos which is along the seafront and finally with the very large Avenida Federico Garcia Lorca which has two roads with a wide pedestrian center and is lined by large trees. The Paseo de Almeria is full of life and a great place to walk up and down either day or night!
