Overview

More
The Palace of Viana is a lived house until the end of 20th century by noble families but with a great popular flavor instead. One of its main attractiveness are the "patios" and the garden that make it be known as Museum of the Patios. Indoor and outdoor are perfectly integrated, giving to the palace an original harmony. Among the collections stand out paintings, tapestries, leather and ceramic tiles among others.

We only saw the courtyards and gardens. Beautiful, peaceful and calm. Not many flowers out in February, but they would clearly be beautiful later.

The most exquisite place and this was in winter. It must be breathtaking in summer. You can opt to just see the patios or the interior or both. Be aware it is closed on Mondays.

Our hotel recommended we visit Palacio de Viana, which was not on our list of things to do having not heard of it previously , so was so pleased they did. The courtyards are varied and interesting even in February. In summer they must be...More

Although a bit off the beaten track this historic palace is well worth the effort to find as it has a wide variety of gardens and rooms. Some of the gardens are quite simply spectacular. It is still easily walkable from the historic centre through...More

We opted only for patios as the interior is available only via a guided tour, which was too late and only in Spanish... but the patios and the outside parts were amazing even in January. I can imagine what can be during the better months....More

Fascinating history behind this 16th Century Palace that has had more owners then I've had hot dinners ! Finally taken over by the State and preserved for all to view. The 12 Gardens & Patios offer a slightly different view or take. Reasonably priced to...More

I walked up there from my accommodation just 900 metres away. A little tricky to locate the correct road to turn into but once there, it’s a soothing floral delight spread among 12 courtyards. The entrance fee to the courtyards alone is 5 Euros and...More

We visited here at the end of autumn and many of the plants were still flowering - must be spectacular in Spring. 12 courtyards to visit, all a little different. We spent about 45 minutes here. Each courtyard has a good Description in English.
