We didn’t really notice this at first as we were too busy going to the Tourist Office to get a map and use their facilities. I had it on my ‘list of places to see’ and did not appreciate it until we came back down...More

This gate has been well kept up as it is an important landmark to the city from days long long past to the roman times alone with the old roman bridge right beside it. It makes it something worth stopping by and checking out and...More

At the end of the Roman Bridge in front of the Mezquida and therefore difficult to avoid but actually unimpressive enough to ignore. A gate and not a particularly special one. Nicely lit up at night.

Today it appears as a triumphal arch, but this is a modern invention - originally it was the gateway into the Roman city from the Roman Bridge. A poplular tourist spot with the modern tourist office nearby and, often, with ladies in local dress adding...More

The bridge walk provides an excellent view of the River, the city Walls and vistas. It provides a useful break from the heat of the city and especially early in the morning and late in the evening. Worth a visit as part of your trip

This gate was extensively rebuilt in 1928 and restored in 2005. Its an important landmark in the city but not as grand or architecturally appealing as the gates that we visited while in Madrid. Nevertheless its still a link with history and nowadays attracts the...More

This is a Renaissance-era gate to the city that was extensively rebuilt in the 20th century. It is located between the Roman Bridge and the Mezquita and therefore forms a useful landmark and meeting point. It looks best at night, so I recommend you go...More

This gate is in the Plaza between the Mesquita and the Roman Bridge so you'll have to work really hard to miss it. It's a nice square, with some good views across the river and to the major sites around, but you won't be there...More

From the name you will know that this city gate is near the bridge. It's not a special one. The flamingo dance was performed when we're here. It was very crowded. Nice to see it but with so many people?, no way...I just thought about...More

This lovely stone archway forms part of the old city walls and stands at the Mezquita end of the Roman Bridge as a kind of gateway to the old town. Of course it gets crowded as the old town always does, but as a tourist...More
