Very glad we came here, although it is slightly outside the city centre, it is only a short taxi ride away and well worth it. Lots of lovely plants especially palm trees. A longer walk up the hill if you fancy that for a good view. Nice little cafe too.

Intriguing place that needs exploring to get the best of it it. On arrival it looks rather sparse but don’t give up on it, as you venture inside and explore it gets better and better. A tip to note, is that the hop on hop off bus stops there, and even if you hadn’t bought a ticket you can pay a single fair to get to and back from the centre of Malaga. Recommend you visit here.

An oasis of calm just outside the city of Málaga. There are so many different plants flowers and trees to see and enjoy. The ponds are very well presented. It is a long walk to go around the whole gardens, and some of it is not accessible to wheelchairs or mobility scooters. I can also recommend the cafe/restaurant on site. I recommend a visit!

We came especially to see the Gardens Christmas light display and were not disappointed. It was simply magnificent and the crowd control was very good so not too busy to move comfortably around the light displays which was all breathtaking, glad we name the journey. Its a must see if you are in Malaga in December

Beautiful Park with so many walks. Interesting to see photos of the family that used to live there and imagine what it was like in their day. We took a taxi which I was glad of as we could walk further in the gardens. The cafe is really good and reasonable priced. Well worth a visit. Very enjoyable afternoon.

See previous review. The 91 bus has been replaced by a dedicated hop on/off bus that does a loop from the station to the Jardin itself so you no longer have to walk up the hill and cross the motorway. 1.40 euros each way, The gardens are superb with an excellent cafeteria.

I walked to here from Malaga city centre alongside the dry riverbed which was a nice walk and took little more than an hour without being stressed. I've done it a few times actually. Judging by what I saw on my visit and pictures from Summer through Autumn its obvious January isn't the best time to go as a lot of the plants will be dormant. That said, if you have a love of nature and plants in general then you'll enjoy it anyway - as I did. Mind you they could have reduced the €5.30 fee considering there were fewer plants in flower. Still hardly a deal-breaker. There are many lovely walks and plenty of curiosities to see. if the weather is good take a picnic as there's loads of places to sit and contemplate. There's also a cafe with a variety of food on offer. Plenty of toilet facilities also. The palm walk was superb as was the forests of bamboo!! Loads of water features and paths to explore so you won't be bored. You can easily spend several hours here. The family's original country villa is not accessible but there are static exhibitions in various outhouses. It's still nice to see the house adjacent to the celebrated wisteria which was NOT in flower in January obviously. All in all a great day out and if you're anyway fit at all walk to it instead of taking the bus! Apparently back in the day horse drawn carriages used to bring visitors to the house along the river bed so walking the same route kind of enhanced the experience for me!! Look out for original photographs depicting this in one of the static exhibitions behind the cafe.

That´s a lovely garden in the outskirts of the city. In fact, its location makes this site very reachable if you come by car from outside the city. Parking there is easy too. Although originally belonged to a local rich family, the property was passed down to the local council in the end, being then opened to the general public. The gardens are very nice and vast -with a slight degree of neglect in some areas though- and there are so many different spots. There are lots of lush vegetation and a romantic vibe all over the place. Some parts are very close to a nearby motorway, so the noise spoils a bit that feeling, but all of the rest are more secluded areas where you only hear the breeze. There are some buildings scattered all over the place, nowadays used for exhibitions and so on, but all of them were closed the day I went.

I never miss an opportunity to visit a garden/botanic garden and Malaga's did not disappoint. The garden is about 4km from the city centre, but very easy to get to on one of the bus routes. We took the Green Line Sightseeing bus from the stop on Pasillo de Atocha, excellent value at 1.40 euro each for a return ticket. Entrance fee for the garden is equally reasonable. A week previous to our visit we had watched an episode of Monty's Spanish Gardens in which he made a brief visit to the gardens and wasn't very complimentary in my opinion, focussing mainly on its outlook over the city and the adjacent traffic noise, so we weren't sure what to expect. We were therefore delighted to find a beautiful garden, which indeed does have traffic noise to contend with due to the proximity to several motorways, but which is nonetheless a fabulous green space which, if I were a resident in Malaga, I would be utilising on a regular basis. We spent most of the day at the gardens enjoying the vast collection of sub tropical trees and flora, including a great collection of cactus and succulents, which in northern Europe would be confined to a glass house. These historic gardens are well laid out, the plants are well labelled with lots of spots to sit and contemplate. There are some great views over the city from both the Mirador and even better if you follow the Ruta Forestal at the top of the gardens. Nice little cafe at the entrance to the gardens.

The no. 2 bus from the Atarazanas has a regular service.However,its about a 20 minute walk uphill from the terminus to the entrance to the park (you have to cross under the motorway to get there). The park is massive but has a well signposted trail of paths around it. There is a good cafe and plenty of toilets around the paths. There is a lot of information as you walk round both about the history of the gardens and its founders. Different areas focus on particular aspects of subtropical plants e.g. the Mediterranean plants, the cacti area, Palm trees. We visited in February but imagine that there would be a riot of colour from Spring to Autumn. We spent the whole day there and still didn’t see everything.
