Lots of restaurants to choose from. This place retains a lot of charm and it not ruined by mass tourism.

We've stayed near the square twice. It's great for people watching. It's surrounded by some great bars and restaurants, the food market is here, a couple of small convenience stores and a good sized Dia supermarket up the road.

Great square where locals meet. Not very touristy. Great restaurants all around. Woth visiting and sitting in the sunshine.

One of the many squares in Malaga. This one is surrounded by various restaurants and bars, and is a decent place to find some of the night life.

This is one of so many plazas that you can find in Malaga but it's one of few that is not used as terrace on the plaza self. It's clean, and pretty quiet, no tourists at the moment we're there. The torrijos monument is at...More

This is a pleasant plaza with lots of eating places. There are often musicians playing and some are really quite good. There are benches under the trees and the one nearest to Picaso's birthplace has a bronze statue of him sitting on it. You sometimes...More

Scruffy square with a few homeless people laying around. But there were also families with kids playing and hippies / punk type people playing music. It depends on the mood you are in but once we got a photo next to Picasso's statue we left...More

This central plaza not only has Picasso's birthplace Museum on the corner, and a lifelike statue of Picasso seated on a bench, but is an ideal place to enjoy a drink or tapas in one of the many bars/restaurants along the north side. The square...More

The municipal market is here, great market, and this square is a busy place, plus a great place to stop and sit outdoors with a beverage.

Yes - try Restaurante Vegetariano Cañadú, Plaza de la Merced, 21 Málaga - (+34) 952 60 27 19. Very good reviews. It's on the opposite side of the Plaza to Picasso's house. Enjoy.
