Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Church of Santiago is the oldest church in Malaga and was built in 1490. Pablo Ruiz Picasso, the brilliant painter who revolutionised 20th century art, was baptised here in 1881 at the baptismal font.

It has a mudejar tower and inside there is a mix of Mudejar and Gothic styles.

It also has a large wooden door with what looks like breasts on it. I thought it was my imagination until I saw the willy shapes too!

This Church of Santiago is an interesting church. It is located on Calle Granada and near the Plaza de la Merced, both of which have plenty of pedestrian traffic. However few people enter this church. Actually it is the oldest church in Malaga, founded in 1490. The tower has a square form and has the Mudejar style. The most important feature of the church is the baptismal font made of marble in the 16th century and this was were Picasso was baptized in 1881.

On a recent holiday to Malaga I viewed quite a few churches ,one that caught my eye was Church Of Santiago .
A beautiful looking church ,the church was none other than were Pablo Picasso was baptised ,it's such a wonderful looking church ,the facade is really evocative ,makes for some great photographic opportunities and is well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Calle Granada

Nice church in the old town. Beautiful ceiling and altar. It’s not very big but worth a good 15 minute viewing. Recommended .

Stumbled upon this beautiful old church as we were wandering around the historic centre of Malaga and what a great find.
Built on the site of a former mosque in 1490 ,on close inspection the differing architectural styles becomes apparent, a beautiful church both inside and outside, entry is free ,you can view the documentation that shows that Picasso was baptised here in 1881,it's a church that has some serious history attached to it.
Located on Calle Granada and is most definitely well worth seeking out.

My wife and I had a short stop off in Malaga whilst on a TUI cruiser and enjoyed the visit. Whilst exploring we stumbled on this amazingly beautiful church. A fully working church with lovely architecture and amazing ambiance.

This is probably one of the oldest churches in Málaga. You don't give much for it seeing it from the outside, buy inside you'll have very beautiful art and architecture. Picasso was baptized here and the certificate is on public display.

The Church of Santiago is the oldest church in Malaga. It was constructed in 1490. The church is located on a central street, so it is easy to get to. The most interesting thing to see in this church is the baptismal font at one corner, and it was where Picasso was baptized.
