Drive all the way to the top and witness the fantastic views
Jun 2019 • Family
we decided to visit the mountains and we were not disappointed. We followed the road up and up and couldn't believe the amazing views. I would suggest that a 4 x 4 is a great vehicle as the roads are like dirt tracks. There are no proper road barriers and on some parts there is a very big drop. Once you reach the top you will not be disappointed with lovely walks and seating areas, relax and enjoy the scenic views and keep your eyes out for the mountain goats.

Great place for walks
Jan 2019 • Couples
Great place for walks , although found some of the coloured walks were a bit confusing . Some of the walks might be a bit tricky for some, and not suitable for kids , a bit dangerous in places but great walks all in all.

Great views from Frigiliana and Competa trails
May 2018 • Couples
Well we tried hard to do El Acebuchal (yellow) from Frigiliana. Ended up on red trail half way to Nerja! BUT what a view, you are high with two valleys on either side and the sea also. We decided to back track and then found blue trail - Do not enter, private property hunting (obvious) haha. anyhoo... Our various getting lost was 8 hours of walking nearly but still fun and had good shoes and water.
Next day Competa. The drive from Torrox Pueblo to Competa is fantastic in its own right. We then decided to do some of the easy trails up by the scoccer stadium. Decided on the shorter red trail loop (about 4 hours), it really was wonderful, and then a really easy paved road with bo traffic and great views high for about 1.5 miles.
Love this part of Spain

Beautiful
Dec 2016 • Couples
This is beautiful and historical. To understand what You are looking st you should get head set. The problem
With that is you do not exit at a
Place you can return the headset. There could be more written information. There was a lot of construction.you can visit the other areas before entering the Alahambra. I would suggest doing that.

Fantastic mountains. Gain height quickly from frigliana
Jul 2016 • Couples
We walked most of the hills around frigliana. Well worth the effort despite the heat. Amazing views. Only had trainers on but they did the job though I guess boots would have been better. Walked Felix, pinto and also el fuerte. Buy a guide in the tourist information but not every detail/measurement is spot on, but you get the drift

magnificent hiking/ cycling
Mar 2016 • Couples
if you are claustraphobic , and dont fancy going in the caves de nerja, there are two magnificent walks/cycle tracks just before the entrance to the caves.
we walked from nerja via the aqueduct. these are official marked tracks. its a conservation area so you cant walk wherever you want. we went on the shorter one . its like walking in the scottish highlands - but its WARM !. (even on the 3rd of march)

Best driving route from Granada to the coast
Feb 2015 • Friends
I can only imagine how amazing the hiking trails are after the amazing views we saw from the road. The mountains are jagged, desolate and wild. As you are winding down the mountains you even have views of the sea in between the mountains. It is a spectacular way to drive back to the coast.

Great trails for hiking
Jan 2015 • Friends
We spent around 6 hours exploring the mountains in the eastern park of the natural park. Absolutely beautiful - stunning river with the clearest water, gorgeous waterfalls and exciting caves. Plus, Spanish mountain goats and horses! A great place for hiking and even camping.
