We visited here after reading other trip advisor reviews and very glad we did. The crypt was breathtaking. There is a tour guide who works there as a volunteer who will explain the hell and heaven crypts and show you the small museum all for a voluntary donation of 2 euros. He was telling us today that this tour might... More

This is really worth a visit it's inspiring and breathtakingly beautiful. Hardly anyone there when I stumbled into the crypt by accident, just one other person. Cannot understand why it is not promoted as its truly beautiful with loads of interesting and unusual historical artefacts.

Take the tour in the morning, and visit the crypt. After the visit of the church, the guide brings you to the crypt , where you visit HELL and then go to HEAVEN. Just amazing.

The crypt is an unusual gem and well worth the visit, at the front of the basilica go right towards the garden to find the entrance. Our guide was excellent and very informative - highly recommend this site/experience.

Well worth a visit and definently get the tour. It cost us only 2 euro and what the guide showed us behind the altar was truly special. There are places you cant see without the guide so it is worth seeking it out. It is a bit out of the city centre so they do not get as many tourists... More

We saw this Basilica and crypt in our guidebook, but thought it would be a long walk therefore didn't make it last year....this year we did! Thank goodness. By chance we caught the volunteer guide whose English was excellent. He took us round this hidden gem, explained the history, and unlocked doors allowing us to see such amazing treasures. You... This place is definitely worth visiting. It looks rather common from outside but, as the guide said, the beauty should be in the interior. And it is there indeed. Not in the basilica itself, however. You need to go for a tour (morning 10-13). You will visit a unique crypt, a small museum and the Paradise Hall - a baroque... More

I have been meaning to visit this for a while but yesterday I finally made it to the Basilica. I had heard about the crypt and I thought that was the main thing to see. It is one of the main things to see, because the tower was absolutely spectacular too. Both were breathtaking and my enjoyment was enhanced by... More

If you only do one thing in Malaga, go to Santa Maria de la Victoria between 10am and noon and take the tour of the crypt and the Heavenly Tower. Miguel very kindly agreed to take us on a tour on the Saturday morning (normally I think it only runs between Monday and Friday). He is the best guide you... More
