From our first tentative enquiry to Gary at Tour Andalucia, the experience was outstanding! The pre-tour information included FAQs, transport arrangements, detailed itinerary schedules, accommodation, advanced highlight ticketing purchases etc, no stones left unturned. From this we knew we were in the hands of an experienced operator. What could go wrong? Nothing! Our tour began with a delayed/cancelled flight in, necessitating a call to Gary. He spent some time on the phone with us, checking alternative flight details, and attempting to book for us. All ended well, and we met the incomparable tour leader, Alex, at the airport at a specially arranged time! For the next week, Alex picked us up (four only guests!) at Tour Andalucias superb Villa in Antequera, drove us to all the sights with practiced ease, in modern small Mercedes tour vans, with on board commentary. The Villa really is superb, huge rooms, quiet, great breakfasts, and the most wonderful swimming pool to have drinks by! Gary was our host there, cooked us pasta one evening, and other evenings came to local restaurants with us, speaking the lingo, and was really fun company. If you have the pleasure of meeting Gary, be sure to get him to pose "the three light switches" quiz! Back to our new friend Alex. At each destination, Alex walked a while with us to outline the general and detailed history of the area, restaurant recommendations. Then we were left to our own devices with a time to meet at a prescribed spot. Then off to the next destination, or to dinner (incredible Flamenco dancing show - Wow! The Alhambra at night - Double Wow!), or back to the Villa, all so easy. Alex was amazing, so informed, nothing was too much trouble, and what a character, great sense of humour. If you have the pleasure of meeting Alex, be sure to get him to explain who invented the jandal/flipflop/thong - hilarious!
In a nutshell? Most importantly, the folk at Tour Andalucia just make your holiday, wonderful. Andalucia itself, the sights chosen by the tour, mind numbingly beautiful.
Stress - what stress, all like clockwork, smooth as silk.
As Gary notes "We aren't a big "uncaring" tour operator, we genuinely care about the experience our guests have so bear that in mind and come prepared to enjoy yourself".

We wanted to tour only the Andalucia region and with a small group. Tour Andalucia was the perfect solution! Gary was very user friendly to deal with before the trip. Alex, our driver/guide was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and personable. The amount of time with Alex and on our own was just the right balance. Alex's restaurant recommendations were spot-on. We expected a great tour, but it was even more than we expected. I highly recommend Tour Andalucia!

An excellent tour. We stayed in a large villa which was kept beautifully clean & comfortable, with an excellent breakfast each day.
Our tour guide / driver was most helpful &willing to adapt to our requirements eg stopping at the local supermarket to allow us to pick up some wine & cheese as an alternative to eating out some evenings.
We benefitted hugely from his inside knowledge of the cities, seeing places unavailable to larger groups & learning just enough history without being overwhelmed.
There is a good balance throughout the week, with the National park & coastal Malaga providing a contrast to the historical sites.
Although in our late 70's we managed the amount of walking well, but enjoyed the freedom to choose our own itinerary in the afternoons.
I would definitely recommend Tour Andalucia.

This tour is the best way to see Andalucia. What an experience we had. Our accommodation throughout the tour were top notch. Our guide, Alex was a gem. He is very knowledgeable with the subject he is discussing, prompt and funny at times. All 6 of us on this tour had a wonderful time. We will use this tour again.

We have just enjoyed one of our best holidays ever, in the capable hands of Jimmy and Gary. To avoid daily unpacking and repacking we stayed at the amazing "Parador de Antequera" and were driven to a different location each day. We really appreciated being taken right into the city centres then being pointed in the right direction for the various attractions and recommended restaurants. Antequera, our base for the week, is attractive in its own right and the morning and evening drives took us through stunning scenery. The itinerary and tour format were perfect for us. We really appreciated being able to see so much of Andalusia in a relatively short time and with no stress or hassle. Thoroughly recommended.

A really interesting and enjoyable 6 day tour with a well thought-out programme, covering four cities, plus some off the normal route surprises! What is so good is that the groups are very small (we were lucky to be by ourselves!), and at each location, the guide accompanies you on some walking, shows you exactly where and how to visit the main cultural attractions and then leaves you plenty of free time to see them for yourself at your leisure. They call this “guiding light” and it was perfect for us: no rush, no stress, totally flexible. So in summary a great way to explore Andalucia with a guide who makes you feel a true guest, guaranteeing you all the must-see sights….and fun along the way!
Oh and there is a choice of accommodation also as you prefer.
Pssst: they can offer bespoke or preplanned tours to other parts of Andalucia as well!

As we browse through our photos and reminisce about our trip, I wanted to write to say what a wonderful holiday we have had. A perfect stress-free way to visit so many places in one holiday.
Everything ran so efficiently - from Alex (our tour leader) collecting us at our hotel, to the way we were looked after at the Villa, the daily tour arrangements, and Alex bringing us back to Malaga at the end of the tour.
The Villa had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Our tour guide, Alex, is such a kind, friendly person. He looked after us so well and made sure we didn’t miss anything on our tour. He’s a great guy - despite the jokes! 🤣We learnt a lot about the places, history, culture and food. He shared so much knowledge with us, in an informative but not overloading way. And made sure that we had enough detail to find our way around at each location when we were left to do our own thing. We very much enjoyed spending time with him.
Stacey is such a lovely lady and she also looked after us very well. It was lovely to have a chat each morning over breakfast. We were there on her last day as she retired. I’m sure she’ll be missed by all.
All the Tour Andalusia people we met (Alex, Stacey, Jackie - and we met Jimmy too) were so friendly and kind. We were made so welcome and felt like a real part of the Tour Andalusia family. They are an absolute credit to the company.

One year ago, we started researching to find a tour company that would help us visit cities in Andalucia. We did not want to be packed in with a bus load of tourists and rushed through museums and cathedrals and then loaded back on to the bus.
Tour Andalucia facilitated a wonderful experience of the region. We took the high speed rail from Madrid to Malaga and the transfer process was very smooth. Jimmy met us at the Train station and we toured with another couple with Jimmy as group leader for all six days. Each day we woke up and Stacey prepared a wonderful small breakfast in the villa in Mollina. Jimmy drove 1 to 1 1/2 hour drives each day from Mollina to the cities of the ‘Highlights of Andalucia’ tour. He led the group on a short walk while giving us a short discussion of the history of each city and the monuments. Then he gave us a few hours to explore on our own. The architecture is breathtaking and beautiful. There was plenty of time to see what you want to see and we were able to do our own thing in each city. Jimmy made a few suggestions for where to take lunch and you could choose what you wanted to do. There was a good balance of having advice and then being free to do your own thing.

We did the Ultimate Andalusia tour as we wanted to stay over in each location and enjoy as much time in each resort as possible. This tour was fantastic from start to finish. Our tour guide Alex was the best. He was very warm and very friendly and looked after us in every way possible. Thank you Alex. He was a great conversationalist and very knowledgeable about the history of Andalusia as well as talking about general day to day living in Andalusia. He also gave us some excellent recommendations for food and restaurants/tapas bars which were really authentic and delicious. The small tour bus was very spacious and very comfortable. The hotel choices were excellent and all located perfectly. The days were very well thought out and planned with a good balance of travel, walking tours and history of each city, time to visit historical sites and free time to please ourselves. We feel very lucky to have found this company and experience this truly wonderful tour. It was small, personal and suited us perfectly. Thanks also to Gary who owns the company for all his help and advice during the booking process. What a gem of a company this is.

We are seeking a private day tour for 2 people, from the port in Malaga to Cordoba, particularly to visit the Jewish Quarter. We will be onboard a cruise ship. Date is Sunday, November 20, 2016. Arrive in port at 8:00am, sail at 6:00 PM. Please advise us, if possible and cost. Thanks. Hope you can accommodate us.

Dear Janet,
I would like to ask you about the total cost of your trip? Does it include accommodation and entrance fees? How did you pay to the company? I am from Japan and will arrive at and leave from Malaga Airport and have 7 nights, 8 days in Spain (late Feb). I would like to go to Cordoba, Cadiz, Granada, Seville and Ronda.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Accommodations were included, but entrance fees were not. I used Paypal. This tour is a great way to see the places you want to see in one week. The villa accommodations are the most reasonable, be we stayed at the Parador, for its proximity to other restaurants and sights in Antequera. The tour guides are very friendly and knowledgeable, and give you plenty of time in each location to explore on your own. Highly Reccommend!

This is Gary from Tour Andalucia.
Yes the rooms are en-suite. I can email you a FAQs document that contains a lot of information and answers to these types of questions if you would like to receive this.

I am interested in the standard Andalucia's villa tour because as a solo traveller it seems to me the best way to explore the towns of Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Mijas, Malaga and Ronda in a safe and less stressful way.
Do you have set dates for these tours and hotels you pick up from?
Roughly how much time is spent travelling in bus/coach?
Prices?
Thank you

Hi Margarita
Thank you for enquiring about our tours.
We have many single travellers participate in them.
We are based centrally near Antequera and it is only 1 hour to reach most of the places we visit, other than Seville which is 1 hour 30 minutes. Then there may be 10 minutes or so driving to the centre of the City to park. We do publish a schedule for tours and if you contact me via our website then I will send you this along with other information.
Best Wishes

Two mature well traveled American couples want to tour Andalucia. Would love to stay in only a few places long enough to get the feel, but also want to see more places. Considered self drive but past experience tells us we don't want to drive home after a day and evening dinner away from our lodging. What do you suggest? We loved our apartment stay in San Sebastián as an example of our tastes. Janet

How much time do you want to spend in each location? I felt it was a great way to get my feet wet in Andalusia. It was low stress and low effort, with someone else doing all the driving. I would have liked to have seen more in each city, but I am the kind of person who likes to be very thorough. Sometimes, subtracting driving times and lunch, there isn’t that much time left if you want to see a lot. Our host would show us a few things and then let us roam for an hour or 2. That worked well in the smaller places, but was a tad more frustrating in the larger cities like Seville, where you could tell you had not begun to scratch the surface.
To me, to have spent 2 days in each city would have been ideal. In small cities like Ronda, 1 day was enough. It would be worth going to Seville at the end to spend a few extra days.
Hope this helps!

malaga and mijas tour and pick up from airport

I think you are asking if this tour company picks up from the airport in malaga. Yes, it does. Beyond that, more details of what you want to know are needed. There is a short visit to Mijas but it is more of a self guided stroll rather than a tour.
