At the outset, the communication, information and advise we received from Gary Montagu of Tour Andalucía was exceptional. He promptly replied to all our email enquiries with professionalism and outlined the details we needed to make informed decisions. He even kindly provided us lists of recommended hotels in Madrid and Toledo for our 5 days before our tour start as well as advise on train travel. We liked that this company has a maximum of six persons per tour and provides flexibility on our own time in each sight and location visit. Collectively, all this gave us great comfort in booking our November trip with Tour Andalucía.
We recently completed the Ultimate Andalucía Tour (10 days/11 nights). Our driver and guide Alex, is an experienced and officially certified guide in many aspects; hospitality, tourism, etc. The genuine joy and passion exhibited by Alex, made the experience even more enjoyable. His knowledge of Spain's history, architecture, art, food and the cities/sights visited combined with his friendly, warm, kind and easy manner, made this trip very memorable. At each city stop, he ensured we were always well situated in our hotels. The daily walking tours and drives to sights were informative and he provided us the information we needed to explore with flexibility when on our own at our pace. Alex was always readily available by phone or text, was willing to answer questions, assist in any way, provide additional advice on things to do and to visit throughout the trip. We liked the experience so much, that we will be engaging Tour Andalucía for the Portugal Tour they offer.
We highly recommend Tour Andalucía, you will enjoy the experience.

We have just concluded our visit to amazing Andalusia. We found this to be an excellent tour, which exceeded all our expectations. Everything was very well organised and all went smoothly and without hiccup. The pre-tour details and arrangements were top notch and built our confidence. Everything about tour itself was super.
We stayed in the villa at the beginning - and opted to arrive a couple of days early in order to acclimatise ourselves and relax before the tour proper started. This suited us very well indeed.
The villa was kept beautifully clean and well organised by the lovely Jackie and we found it most comfortable. We had the villa to ourselves for three nights.
A simple and excellent breakfast was provided each day by the delightful Stan, who was always most obliging.
Our companions on the tour were all great company and very easy to be around. There were nine of us on the tour - two mini buses.
We opted not to eat out at night - we took lunch each day and then had a very simple meal each evening, which we prepared ourselves. Good fresh food is available from the local supermarket. This plan worked very well indeed for us. Others were happy to eat out.
Our tour guides / drivers (Alex and Javi) were first rate - they were very well informed, helpful and relaxed - yet very professional with excellent time keeping. The tour was very much enhanced by their detailed inside knowledge of the cities. Parking was a breeze and we were able to see places unavailable to larger groups.
We learned a good deal of history without ever feeling constrained or overwhelmed. Questions were welcomed and were answered thoughtfully and with good humour. We were also to do independent exploring and have the chance to use much of our time as we wished.
We felt there was a very good balance throughout the week. Visits to the National Park and coastal Malaga provided a nice contrast to the fabulous historical sites. When there was any spare time - or an opportunity - it was used to pop in an extra visit somewhere - by mutual agreement.
Although we are in our seventies, we managed the amount of walking well. We slept soundly and felt refreshed each morning. We very much enjoyed the chance to choose our own itinerary in the afternoons.
At the end of our Highlights Tour we had a day off in the villa and then we did the Western Andalusia Extension, which we loved. A very special addition.
After this we had two additional nights at the hotel in Malaga. . . So we were away for fourteen nights in total. All was very competently arranged by Gary. He was excellent at answering our many questions and queries by email beforehand and a nice man to have around when we were there.
We would definitely recommend Tour Andalucia to anyone considering going. We had a special and splendid holiday and a really wonderful adventure.

Tour Andalucia was an excellent choice for us. We traveled in small-group , which made it like a private tour for the three of us.. The accommodations in the Villa in Mollina were very comfortable, and had an almost home like feel. After a long , and enjoyable day of sightseeing, we were free to relax, swim if we wanted to, and use the kitchen to make a simple dinner. The location was central to most of the cities to visit on the itinerary. Stacey, a wonderful hostess, prepared a very enjoyable breakfast for us each morning. She went out of her way to accommodate our requests. Then off we went out each day with Jimmy, (our guide). He drove us everywhere. He knew the area extremely well, and was very flexible with the schedule based on our needs. His knowledge, experience, and great sense of humor made the trip extremely enjoyable. We were given plenty of time to explore, lunch and shop on our own. The time at each site was just enough. He showed us places we would have not been able to discover on our own, like the mountain hike in Antequera.
The town of Mollina where the villa was had a number of decent restaurants for dinner, although besides its central location, it would nice to spend some time there to get a taste of the real Spain, that's not touristic.
Although we never met Gary in person, but our interactions with him from requesting information, to booking and paying were very smooth and extremely professional.

A truly excellent experience! This is the perfect tour if you are looking for a personalized, stress-free, COVID friendly, and immersive trip to Andalusia. This trip was our first since COVID started, and given all the uncertainties with traveling because of COVID, we did much research into which tour would be best during this time. I can assure you this tour is extremely reliable! Gary was very accommodating when it came to planning our schedule and Jimmy and Stacy were the most lovely hosts during our stay in the Villa. My boyfriend and I have always wanted to tour the South of Spain and Gary and Jimmy made the entire experience seamless for us from start to finish. They are very educated on the semantics of planning a trip in this area and were extremely helpful when it came to booking tickets and organizing each day. As locals themselves, they were aware of things we could never have predicted on our own. They were very flexible with our tour and included all of our requests for places we wanted to visit. Each day we would wake up in the stunning villa where Stacy would prepare us a delicious breakfast. We would then leave with Jimmy in his air conditioned van and head to a new city for the day. Jimmy has perfected where the most convenient spots are to park in the middle of the city where we could easily meet up with him without having to walk far. He would then give us a tour of the city and point out the best areas we should see, and then we had hours of free time to explore those areas ourselves. Jimmy was very knowledgable about the history of each city as well as the environment surrounding the area. We would get back to the villa (also has AC) at around 7 PM where we would have a dip in the pool and time to relax in the peaceful and tranquil town of Mollina. Overall, we are very grateful to Gary, Jimmy, and Stacy for creating such an incredible experience for us and highly recommend this tour if your are looking to explore Andalusia. It was extremely well organized and stress-free with the most amazing hosts. We are truly lucky to have chosen this more intimate experience rather than a less accommodating and less reliable larger tour group.

My husband and I along with another couple spend 5 glorious days at the Villa in Molina with Gary and his crew. We took the train from Madrid to Molina (about 2.5 hours) and Gary picked us up from the train station. We were able to settle in and grab dinner. We enjoyed each city we visited. Stacey made us breakfast every morning, it was delicious. Jimmy and Gary took us to Ronda, Seville, Granada, Malaga and Cordoba, and it was perfect. We had plenty of free time at each location. It was clear that they had the tours down to science. My favorite day was Malaga where we had a delicious seafood lunch on a beach.
The room and bathroom were both spacious. Water pressure was very good. Room was cleaned every day. Laundry available for 10 Euro a load. We also enjoyed time at the pool and dined al fresco at the Villa.
I would definitely recommend this tour for those who want to explore Andalucía region and don't want to move hotels every day. However, if you want to move hotels they also have a tour for that! Also, the value for the tour is phenomenal. We were a group of 4 and two additional people joined us, so 6 total. The small group makes it so much more enjoyable so you can actually hear what the guide is saying.
We are looking forward to going on their Morocco tour in the near future. Thank you Gary, Jimmy, Stacey, and Jackie for a great trip!

A really interesting and enjoyable 6 day tour with a well thought-out programme, covering four cities, plus some off the normal route surprises! What is so good is that the groups are very small (we were lucky to be by ourselves!), and at each location, the guide accompanies you on some walking, shows you exactly where and how to visit the main cultural attractions and then leaves you plenty of free time to see them for yourself at your leisure. They call this “guiding light” and it was perfect for us: no rush, no stress, totally flexible. So in summary a great way to explore Andalucia with a guide who makes you feel a true guest, guaranteeing you all the must-see sights….and fun along the way!
Oh and there is a choice of accommodation also as you prefer.
Pssst: they can offer bespoke or preplanned tours to other parts of Andalucia as well!

We have just enjoyed one of our best holidays ever, in the capable hands of Jimmy and Gary. To avoid daily unpacking and repacking we stayed at the amazing "Parador de Antequera" and were driven to a different location each day. We really appreciated being taken right into the city centres then being pointed in the right direction for the various attractions and recommended restaurants. Antequera, our base for the week, is attractive in its own right and the morning and evening drives took us through stunning scenery. The itinerary and tour format were perfect for us. We really appreciated being able to see so much of Andalusia in a relatively short time and with no stress or hassle. Thoroughly recommended.

In the months prior to our trip to Portugal and Spain we wrote to Gary, the owner of this tour company, with many questions. He always responded promptly with very helpful info. Myself and 2 lifetime friends were on a trip celebrating turning 65 in 2022. This tour exceeded all our expectations. The three of us had the pleasure of the company of tour guide Alex…..amazing young man who was an absolute bonus for our experience. He is brilliant ! …speaks 7 languages and is extremely verse in the history of all Spain, never mind just Andalucia. A man very respectful of all the different personalities that are their clients, a love for people, an artist in conversation and a very educated tour guide, Alex ensured our tour was top notch. We saw all the highlights of this region as well as had ample time to do our own exploring. We also recommend the “villa” experience. Rooms were so comfortable and clean, breakfast was over the top and the gatherings of all tour people whether at breakfast or early evening was an added treat to our stay. Grocery store was a short walk and good restaurants within a block a two. You should book this tour, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks Alex, Gary, Stacey and Jackie….we had a wonderful time!!

We had a wonderful week with Tour Andalusia. Everything was arranged by Gary via email and he was very responsive and efficient in his communication which gave me confidence before our tour. We did the “highlights of a Andalusia” which included excursions to Mijas, Ronda, Córdoba, Granada, Malaga and Seville. Our driver and guide was Alex and we couldn’t have been more happy with his services. Alex had a relaxed approach to the tour whilst maintaining a professional and very diligent service. He was a pleasure to be around and nothing was too much bother for him. He even offered to drive us to the supermarket on any day we wanted.p and was on hand via WhatsApp at anytime throughout.
The days would start with a breakfast at between 8am-9am and Alex would pick us up in a quality tour van to start the excursions at 9 or 9:30am. We would usually be given a short tour in the morning and then at around 1pm be offered free time in the afternoon for lunch and self exploration until pick up time which would be agreed upon by the group members (usually around 6pm). There were 5 people on our tour which made for a more personable and almost private-like tour experience. Alex was a great guide and he was incredibly flexible with how we wanted our days to run (within reason). For example, after the very long (but fantastic) day excursion to Granada & the Alhambra, we were able to request a later start the next day for a bit of extra rest. Alex constantly reminded us that it was our holiday and anything he could do to help would not be too much trouble. Alex is also a very steady and safe driver which was very reassuring!
We stayed in the villa which is owned by Gary and it was a very comfortable stay. Stacey provided us with a nice continental breakfast every morning before our excursions and she is a delightful character who brightened up our mornings!
The villa itself is clean and spacious with TV lounges and a swimming pool for our use (although March weather isn’t conducive to outdoor pool activities). The only slight downside is that the villa is in Mollina which is quite a small place with a limited selection of restaurants to choose from. If you are a foodie like we are, it is perhaps advisable to have your main meal for lunch in all the wonderful towns and cities that you visit - all which have plenty of superb restaurants to choose from. However, Alex being such a great guide, offered to take us to Antequera (nearest larger town) for an evening meal where he said offered more choice and recommended a few very good restaurants. On the plus side, Mollina is perfectly located in the middle of all the wonderful cities we got taken too, so no journey is unduly arduous.
I wouldn’t hesitate at all in recommending Tour Andalusia if you are looking for a small group tour company who are professional, good value and relaxed in their approach to tour guiding. We had a wonderful holiday thanks to a brilliant tour guide inAlex. Thank you so much!

Thank you for taking the time to post such a lovely and detailed review.
Normally Mollina has four or five local restaurants that are open for dinner, but on rare occasions, it can occur that, for whatever reason, some are closed. In any instances of this, we will take guests to the nearby village of Alameda (10 minutes drive away) or the large town of Antequera (15 minutes away) where restaurants are open.

We did the Ultimate Andalusia tour as we wanted to stay over in each location and enjoy as much time in each resort as possible. This tour was fantastic from start to finish. Our tour guide Alex was the best. He was very warm and very friendly and looked after us in every way possible. Thank you Alex. He was a great conversationalist and very knowledgeable about the history of Andalusia as well as talking about general day to day living in Andalusia. He also gave us some excellent recommendations for food and restaurants/tapas bars which were really authentic and delicious. The small tour bus was very spacious and very comfortable. The hotel choices were excellent and all located perfectly. The days were very well thought out and planned with a good balance of travel, walking tours and history of each city, time to visit historical sites and free time to please ourselves. We feel very lucky to have found this company and experience this truly wonderful tour. It was small, personal and suited us perfectly. Thanks also to Gary who owns the company for all his help and advice during the booking process. What a gem of a company this is.

What is the benefit of this group tour vs making plans yourself? Where would I get the most value?
Written 22 January 2025
We liked that we were based in one place, so no packing and moving on. Also we were not prepared to drive in Europe (wrong side of the road for us) so preferred to be driven by guides who knew the routes and where to park in each of the places we visited, and gave us a tour of each city/town. I can't say what would provide the most value, as that would depend on what type of accommodation and transport you provided yourself.

Dear Janet,
I would like to ask you about the total cost of your trip? Does it include accommodation and entrance fees? How did you pay to the company? I am from Japan and will arrive at and leave from Malaga Airport and have 7 nights, 8 days in Spain (late Feb). I would like to go to Cordoba, Cadiz, Granada, Seville and Ronda.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Alice Norizuki

Accommodations were included, but entrance fees were not. I used Paypal. This tour is a great way to see the places you want to see in one week. The villa accommodations are the most reasonable, be we stayed at the Parador, for its proximity to other restaurants and sights in Antequera. The tour guides are very friendly and knowledgeable, and give you plenty of time in each location to explore on your own. Highly Reccommend!

I am interested in the standard Andalucia's villa tour because as a solo traveller it seems to me the best way to explore the towns of Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Mijas, Malaga and Ronda in a safe and less stressful way.
Do you have set dates for these tours and hotels you pick up from?
Roughly how much time is spent travelling in bus/coach?
Prices?
Thank you

Hi Margarita
Thank you for enquiring about our tours.
We have many single travellers participate in them.
We are based centrally near Antequera and it is only 1 hour to reach most of the places we visit, other than Seville which is 1 hour 30 minutes. Then there may be 10 minutes or so driving to the centre of the City to park. We do publish a schedule for tours and if you contact me via our website then I will send you this along with other information.
Best Wishes
Gary, Tour Andalucia

Two mature well traveled American couples want to tour Andalucia. Would love to stay in only a few places long enough to get the feel, but also want to see more places. Considered self drive but past experience tells us we don't want to drive home after a day and evening dinner away from our lodging. What do you suggest? We loved our apartment stay in San Sebastián as an example of our tastes. Janet
Written 28 January 2015
How much time do you want to spend in each location? I felt it was a great way to get my feet wet in Andalusia. It was low stress and low effort, with someone else doing all the driving. I would have liked to have seen more in each city, but I am the kind of person who likes to be very thorough. Sometimes, subtracting driving times and lunch, there isn’t that much time left if you want to see a lot. Our host would show us a few things and then let us roam for an hour or 2. That worked well in the smaller places, but was a tad more frustrating in the larger cities like Seville, where you could tell you had not begun to scratch the surface.
To me, to have spent 2 days in each city would have been ideal. In small cities like Ronda, 1 day was enough. It would be worth going to Seville at the end to spend a few extra days.
Hope this helps!

malaga and mijas tour and pick up from airport
Written 15 January 2015
I think you are asking if this tour company picks up from the airport in malaga. Yes, it does. Beyond that, more details of what you want to know are needed. There is a short visit to Mijas but it is more of a self guided stroll rather than a tour.
