Super architect and very grand building on a lovely tree lined street. It is very attractive for a City Hall. Worth a visit.

My wife and I have just returned from a short short break at the Hotel California in the beautiful city of Malaga,
The hotel was ujnbelievably rated ** and priced accordingly which was incredibly good value for a little jewel in an ideal location.
Malaga is spotlessly clean with the parks and beaches immaculate and welll presented with great play areas for children and such thoughtfully laid out areas and ammenities for young and old.. The Alcazabar is a must to see with its magnificent views of the city and the Marina and all for princely sum of 2 euros or in our case 60 cents. The old town and the Marina offer so much with variety of shops,eateries horse and carriage rides,outdoor theatre and beautiful beach walks to name but a few,
Bus and trains are plentiful to outlying areas and we took advantage by visiting Torremolinos where we had excellent fish and chips and drinks in a very friendly beach front eatery.
We strongly recommend Malaga as a holiday destination for young and old and will be returning ourselves in the near future

The Malaga City Council Building had two architects from Malaga, Fernando Guerrero Strachan and Manuel Rivera Vera. The building was completed in 1919. The design is Neo-Baroque and the floor plan is rectangular, with a big enclosed patio in the middle of the building. the facade has a timpanum (a triangular frieze) that is decorated with sculpture done by Francisco Palma Garcia. There is a sculpture of a woman who represents the city, and beside her are figures that allude to architecture, the sea, fishing, and commerce. Above that there is a tower with a clock. Below the frieze are Ionic columns framing a balcony, and below that is the main entrance to the building, which has three floors.
The facade is elaborately decorated. There are figures of men who seem to be supporting the building. These were done by the sculptor Diego Garcia Carreras. Among decorative elements are garlands, large decorative brackets, cornices, volutes, fruits and vegetables, oak leaves, and pedestals.

I love the architecture in Malaga ,so many beautiful buildings to admire ,one building that certainly caught my eye was Malaga City Council Building.
A wonderful looking building ,a great example of Neo Baroque architecture at it's best ,the facade looks awesome ,the columns add a touch of class to what is already a very classy looking building ,it's most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Avenida Cervantes .

Only possible to see the entrance hall, but for Christmas there was a big display/mini model of Jesus’ birth in different interpretations. It’s the third I’ve seen this week while in Malaga, bu the was the longest

This building is the municipal city hall of Malaga. It's a beautiful Neo Baroque building with some lovely features such as the Atlas supports. There's also some beautiful sea themed relief sculpture alluding to the maritime history of the city. Not a must see, but worth a small detour if you're near Parque de Malaga or Paseo del Parque

There are several grand buildings by the Paseo del Parque just below the Alcazaba fortress. Sometimes there is action in front of the City Council, a press conference on the steps or a small demonstration. The palace is off limits to tourists who can only peek inside the lobby, locals have to wait outside too for their documents.

I would say that the building is really very grand , the details of the fixtures as well as the staircase are very beautiful . Its really worth a visit. Last December they had a very nice nativity display . worth visiting .

I was in holiday in Marvela and decided to visit Malaga with my family..!!
Hoooopsss so nice surprise the downtown is gorgeous clean and you feel like is your city .
Please don't miss to go there once in your life no description possible is so nice so nice
Enjoy the pics and God bless Spain and all Spanish great and friendly people

Malaga Council Building must be one of the most impressive buildings just behind Paseo Parque , with a fantastic staircase and stained glass windows.
