Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Jaime was an awesome guide and great with the kids! We were a group of 4 adults and 3 kids and this was a perfect fit for the Jeep. We loved that the pick up was right at our Airbnb, super convenient. The white villages were so beautiful, somewhere we would have never journeyed to unless we were on the tour, such an amazing experience to see old Spain. Great value for your money, make sure to get the lunch added, it was delicious. One of the best soups I have ever had (chorizo). Ronda was spectacular. Thank you for such an awesome day - would highly recommend :)

The best day of my vacation. Leave the crowded Costa del Sol and discover a natural paradise a few kilometers away, declared a National Park. The best guides that will let you know the secrets and beauty of nature.

Antonio (the owner) picked up my husband and me and drove us to meet up with Hugo and the others we would travel with. During our drive to the meeting point, Antonio provided us a lot of information on the area, fauna and flora and wanted to know our expectations for the day. We met up with Hugo and our four travel mates for the day and off we went to the Sierra de las Nievas. We were in an open jeep and once in the mountains were able to stand and experience the scenery, mountains and breathe fresh air. Hugo has a degree in environmental sciences and was very knowledgeable. He has an excellent command of English and his passion for outdoors is obvious. He was very considerate of all members or our group.

This day was relaxing, enjoyable and very educational. We all tried our hand at the slingshot, drank fresh water from the mountain and kept our eyes out for wildlife. We learned about various plants and how they are used both in food and for medicinal purposes. We toured the village of Istan had a bit of a break, took a 20 minute walk following the irrigation line and then stopped for a 3 course lunch. The food was good and you had your choice from three or four items of traditional food. We met Juan and sampled some of his wine and he made rings for the ladies in our group.

We continued into the Mountains and had an enjoyable time learning about the flora and kept looking for animals. There were many opportunities to stop and take pictures. Remember there is no guarantee that you will see wildlife , but you will see wonderful scenery, learn about the area and have plenty of photo ops. I would recommend you have good walking shoes or sandals and an extra bottle of water. This is a bumpy ride and there are many narrow roads.

We have taken many jeep safari's in other countries and this is the only one we have been on that did not take us to a "market" and that we appreciated. I left my prescription sunglasses in the jeep which i discovered during another excursion the next day and was so very pleased to find out that Antonio had driven to my resort to return them. Thank You Antonio, that is what i call excellent customer service. Thanks Antonio and Hugo for your enthusiasm, knowledge, kindness and ethics. Hugo your Mum would be proud.

Wow,what a great day out.We have done many jeep safaris before and always found them to be a great way of seeing the true flavor of an area away from the beaches and bars.and this one was exceptional. Our guide Hugo spoke very good English and couldn't do enough for us to make sure we had a wonderful experience.Hugo really seems to enjoy imparting his vast knowledge of the flora and fauna and history of this beautiful region.Time was unimportant and no-one asked about it.Lunch was excellent traditional Spanish dishes with a view over the mountains and valleys. All in all a very good value day out with a great host, thankyou Hugo.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. Other reviews are accurate.
This is a long tour, starting at 10:00 and ending about 18:30.
The included lunch is fair but very fun.

Did the tour of Sierra de las Nieves today and Hugo was our guide. Superb English, very knowledgable and courteous and polite and genuinely wanted to ensure we all had the best experience. I can honestly say my husband and I learned so much from Hugo today and the scenery is breathtaking. Really enjoyed seeing the oranges, custard apples, pomegranates and olive trees etc. The visit to Istan was lovely. Hugo spoke to an old gentleman called Juan in the village and Juan very kindly showed us his flowers, shared his wine and gave all the ladies in the party of 8 an orange. This old fashioned hospitality from this lovely old gentleman really made me feel very warm inside and I will always remember him. Please, Hugo, if you ever read this review would you please pass on my gratitude to Juan for his friendliness and hospitality to complete strangers.
The flora and fauna on this trip is memorable and fascinating.
I would recommend this trip very very highly and would like to say a very big thankyou to Hugo for doing all he could to make it a fabulously enjoyable and educational day!!

We had a very good day out with these guys. Not the usual trip that they do, we went up into the Ronda Mountains. There is no time pressure, everything takes as long as it takes. If you want to stop for a glass of wine, thats fine, a bit of a stroll, no problem. Genuinely they are more concerned that you have a good time. So just relax and have fun day.

This was our second trip with Monte Aventura and I was so pleased to meet up again with Antonio. He's my new best friend! His knowledge and passion for the work that he does is so infectious and he is certainly inspiring the newer members of his team (Hugo is another Antonio in the making!).

We had a mixed bunch on our tour which took us up into the moutains towards Ronda and through the Smurf village, the chestnut groves and some breathtaking views. Each stop taught us more of the history of the area, which we wouldn't have found out from anywhere else. The eagles, the chestnuts, walnuts and the wild herbs we saw add to the experience and standing up in front of a jeep going up and down steep hills is exhilarating and definitely one that needs to be experienced at least once in your life. We stopped at a melon stall on the way up and tried water direct from a mountain spring. Antonio bought some melons and cut them them for us to try and have to say they were the best melons I've ever had.

Lunch was in a small village restaurant and the food was so beautiful. I tried the white bean soup - delicious, the goat stew and we all tried some wild board with chestnuts which was fantastic.

The whole day, was the best day of our holiday and I am so glad that we joined the trip. Thanks to Antonio and Hugo we had a brilliant day. Will add some photos once I've downloaded them from my camera.

Hugo was our guide for the day and he was wonderful! He transferred his passion for the land and the culture to our three small children. They loved him and everything that he had to show them. He bandaged owies, gave piggy back rides and let them wear his hats! For my husband and I we loved the village of Istan and learning about it's surrounding farms and water sources, seeing what real life was like for some of those in Spain and in all learning more about Spain. Very educational, priced well compared to many other tour options we were presented with and beautiful!
