Wear your best walking shoes, and start climbing the hill ! The view on the Alhambra is exceptional, the small streets just invite you to follow your heart and wander all around, romantic and beautiful. With a little luck, enjoy the sunset on the Alhambra...More

It's quiet walking around this maze of little streets on a steep hillside. There are a few cafes but mostly it's a residential area - an old Arab quarter.

It's a profound experience walking through the narrow streets, imagining what it would've been like to live here when the Moors did. The entryways of the homes are beautiful and as other folks have pointed out, the views from up high are also quite nice....More

its wonderful city. Try to read ' Granada' by Radwa Ashour before going there and mingle down the sreets and alleys. Have some tea there and take the best pictures of alhambra palace from there.

We ended up doing a Segway tour of Albacin and the Gypsy quarter, which was really pleasant. The views from Mirador San Nicolas of the Alhambra are fantastic. It sure saved our feet! I don't think there is any way to get up here in...More

Lovely old town to wander in and window shop. There is no hassle from shop keepers. Good views from the top of the hill. Easy to get lost but just as easy to find the correct way back to town. Restaurants fairly expensive compared to...More

We went up the Albaicín through the winding streets of the neighborhood with Arab style, very picturesque; some courtyards looked just like in the post cards. Beautiful views once on the hill top but it's just the whole place was lively with shops, tapas, coffee...More

The Albaicin was only nice because of the views but really any where in the whole complex you can see nice views. The best part was the wall garden that you walk through towards the exit.

Many tourists only come to this neighborhood for the incredible sunset view of the Alhambra from the mirador (viewpoint) near Saint Nicholas. But all of the streets are worth wandering around and you should take a different route back down--we came up from Carrero Darro...More

Hi, We stayed in "lower" Albayzin (Calle Elvira) and did not regret since the area offers everything what an average tourist needs in Granada - many restaurants of all kinds, close proximity to the museums and the buses to... More

We stayed for a few nights in the Albaicin area of Granada. This is the old Arab quarter with narrow sometimes steep streets although I hesitate calling them streets. They were laid out in the time when donkeys, carts and... More
