Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a bit of a strange visit, still in the process of being renovated I think. The ruins are the remains of one of the earliest Nasrid palaces in the city, dating from the 13th century. The hall (intact) became part of a Christian convent after the 1492 conquest and was even lived in by Torquemada, founder of the Inquisition.
There was a nice AV presentation and although we didn't spend that long it was well worth the €2 entry fee.

Honestly, I went to see it because it was close to my hotel and it was included in the Granada card, and thank goodness. It has beautiful gardens, but the jewel is inside. It has a small Mudejar house and an impressive qibla. We usually focus on the Nasrid palace of the Alhambra and, in my opinion, it is just as beautiful. The staff that assists you is very friendly. This small but lovely place features some beautiful plasterwork which we were able to view at our leisure. It really is worth a visit just for that beautiful room. The glass floor view of old excavations is fine. The gardens are simple but a pleasant place to pause before continuing your way.

Cuarto Real de Santo Domingo is a bit away from the normal tourist trail but easy to find and worth a look. Less crowded and not so much traffic in the narrow streets which have some interesting old buildings.

Today a went for a ride on my bike around Granada and i thought I'd visit this site,so I went to the reception to ask if I could leave my bike in the entrance out of the way so not to leave in the street and the girl said very politely yes of course,so I did,
and then another young girl came walking towards me very quickly attacking me verbally saying that I can not leave my bike anywhere in this area only out in the street, where it can be stolen, she said NO DOGS NO BIKES, she said I would have to leave or take my bike out.
I must say as well that the site was empty no visitor only me, I'm not surprised with that kind of attitude, luckily I knew someone that was with her so they let me in but only this time.
they have no area to leave your bike or Pet if you visit..I will not be visiting again Big Thumbs Down for tourism in Granada...
The attitude of public service in Granada always lets me down compared with other cities in Spain...

This place is little-known and not mentioned in any guidebooks I've seen, but it's another brilliant piece of architecture in Granada. Of course, it's not anything you won't see in the Alhambra, but if you're hungry for more Nasrid architecture, this little place is a five minute-walk from the center of town.

It might have been an Almohad palace structure, then adapted for use by the Nasrids. It's essentially just a pavilion, with one main hall still in good condition and preserving much decoration. It was probably built into the old city walls, which is why from one side it looks almost like defensive tower.

When I visited in June 2015, entry was free, but I don't know if that's because it had just opened or if it will remain as such. (It had just finally re-opened after a long and apparently elaborate renovation.)

It is central, free, pretty just hop in. If you are lucky there might be some exhibition going. Much tapas place in the nearby streets

We visited this site as it was included in the Granada card. Unfortunately the gardens were inaccessible because there had been an event there a few days before and they were still dismantling all the temporary construction that had been erected for the event. Still we got to see the original room that is left of the palace and the original flooring, as well as a high-tech 360 degree video reconstruction of the entire palace and complex. If you are in the area and have half an hour spare, it's worth visiting this site.

What a find. Not on the main tourist trail, and not mentioned as far as I can find in the guide books, but worth looking for (very simple when you see where on the map)

Tranquil garden which appears to be still under construction as the plants are not too well established, but come here in a couple of years (must get back to Granada if just for the Cuarto)

Inside is a Moorish home, absolutely stunning, views across to the Sierra Nevada, you can picture what it must have been like to live here. There's also a video presentation (in Spanish with English sub-titles) which explains how so much is know about the original house, and so how it's being restored, which also gives food to the imagination as to what the house would have been like in it's hey day.

At the present admission is free, but there are ticket machines and so I suspect that there will one day be a charge for admission, but if like me, you're a fan of the Islamic architecture, whatever the cost will be cheap.
