A complete surprise

We were walking along the street on our first evening in Seville, saw an open door so bobbed in to take a peek. Wow, completely over the top amazing!

We called by this Capilla on several occasions during our visit to Sevilla and never found it open. There is no information displayed on opening times.

We were passing by midday on Saturday, looked in and mass was on. Went to mass, very inspiring in such beautiful settings. Needs a LOT of restorative work, but good to see how these buildings age. You can contribute to the restoration fund at the church and online. At the end, the locals were rather chatty to us, although I... More

The church is not very big but very nice though. Take some time to view the spectacular decoration. It makes you wonder where they found the time and money to make it this way :-).

Initially we had no plans to visit this church but we came across it and found a crowd. We decided to go in. And I think it would have been a loss if we had missed this. It is a small church but very beautiful. It is a great example of baroque art. The main point of attraction is the... More

This tiny little chapel is breathtaking. It may be small and it may not have the grandeur of the big cathedrals but that's what makes it even more beautiful. Doused in gold, you can't help but let the building and it's inner presence dazzle you. No need to pay for a ticket or a tour, we just walked in and... More

High Rococo at its highest. This chapel is ablaze with gold-reflected light, statues, and gliter. It is old and still very much in use.

Small but mighty! Step inside and prepare to gasp, as it's breathtaking. Built in the early to mid 1700's it feels even older because of the fading frescoes on the ceiling, but that adds to the charm and history of this lovely church. It's hard to take your eyes off the extremely ornate golden altar, but everywhere your eyes look... More

We came across this by accident. It's well worth a visit for the stunning altarpiece. The church has launched a restoration appeal and it very much needs it. With the colours restored, including the ceiling, and better lighting this will be a significant attraction. All the same, it is well worth dropping by if you are in the city centre.
