- Grá ByrneCounty Kildare, Ireland239 contributionsThe fig trees thoughOh my freaking wow the fig trees are out of this century, or the century before but the century before that even. Hundred plus years old and give out seriously vibey vibes. For the fig trees alone this garden/park was a winner for me. It's a beautiful place all round with plenty of sitting spaces, amazing architecture and an abundance of nature. It ticked all the boxes of what a city green space should provide. An oasis of tranquility in a bustling city.Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten 17 September 2023

Some beautiful ceramics amongst the paths and gardens. We stopped at a bar in the gardens which was lovely. Lots of locals sitting around chatting and cooling down. There is a metro station next to it which is handy, San Sebastian. We sat for an hour before moving onto the plaza.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 October 2023

This is such a beautiful park designed with grid paths formed by hedges and pavements. The park is lush with vegetation including many orange trees, flowering trees and palms. Also here is a SPECTACULAR statue in honor of Christopher Columbus along with fountains and beautifully tiled benches. The location is south of the Santa Cruz neighborhood. This site used to be vegetable gardens that were part of the Real Alcazar. In 1911, King Alfonso XIII donated the land to the city.

I really like these gardens. They're beautiful. But I'm writing to warn people there are pickpockets there. We just were robbed. The trick is apparently old, but none of us knew it. We were looking at an amazing tree, when a man & woman walked up behind us, pointing & talking to us & laughing. They told us they had seen birds in the tree dropping excrement over our backs and on our heads. There was, indeed, stuff dripping off of us. The woman got out tissues, gave us some to clean up, and started wiping our backs. He helped. They were friendly and kept pointing at spots we'd missed. We thanked them, they gave us more Kleenex, and left. Several hours later, we opened our wallets and found all the cash gone. Cards and ID were there, but empty of cash. We realize they had thrown something (mustard and mayonnaise?) on us and started to work. BEWARE.

It is a beautiful garden leading up to the Barrio Santa Cruz neighborhood. There are many pretty statues here. It is colorful and vibrant. It has plenty of benches, fountains, and shade. I love it and highly recommend.

Great place to take a break if you are exploring the city. You can watch locals walking their dogs, enjoy the shade under the trees...

Just outside of Seville's "Real Alcázar" walls, between the old Jewish Quarter ("Barrio Santa Cruz") and the city's ring road ("Ronda Histórica"), you will find "Jardines de Murillo". A small park, with fountains, statues, monuments (e.g. "Monumento a Colón"), many trees and flowers, all honoring Seville's painter Murillo. Probably born in Seville (or near it) in 1617, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo became famous for his religious baroque paintings, as well as for his portraits of women and children. A quick visit, a few fotos and that's done. Enjoy!

No, it’s a public place with lovely ceramic banches, big trees and Colon Monument can be found at the middle of the gardens. Water springs over the gardens and many places to relax and enjoy. There is also kids play places.
