Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Plaza Patio de Banderas is a quiet open area in the Alcazar. We spent several hours in the palace but only walked through this open space. There are quite a few orange trees but not much else. It apparently has some history and dates back to the 10th century. It has seen several changes and rebuilds over time.

A translation to English would be Courtyard of Flags, and the name apparently comes from the custom of displaying flags there for the arrival of the king. One has to walk through it to visit the Real Alcazar and again on leaving. There are rows of orange trees which give it some colour. Without them it would be rather boring.

The Patio de Banderas is in the old city close to the Giralda. It is also called the Courtyard of Flags. People used to desplay their flags when the king arrive.

FOR THOSE LOOKING TO BUY SAME DAY TICKETS TO AL CAZAR.We got there at 6.15AM Sunday with 2 foldable stools, water, jackets(windy morning) AND our passports and credit card. NOTE: they won't sell you tickets without your passports and credit card. We were no 4&5 then,an hour later there were hundreds more in the queue. Office opens at 9 am. Yes it was worth the 3 hour wait.

Plaza Patio De Banderas is a beautiful little plaza that although easily missed is great to find.
Nice architecture abounds around the plaza but the views of the magnificent Torre Giralda is the big draw here ,its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the wonderful Casco Antiguo De Sevilla ( Ancient District Of Seville).

The Plaza Patio de Banderas is a pleasant small square featuring a fountain and Orange trees. It also provides an excellent view of the Cathedral's La Giralda tower.

Here is the ticket office of Real Alcazar (the entrance is from another place, however). There is a small orange grove and a nice view of the Giralda.

The Patio de Banderas is located within the surroundings of the Royal Alcazar.
It owes its name to the tradition of hanging flags on the spot before the arrival of any king.
A nice and quiet spot to visit and to walk through towards the Jewisch quarter.
Admission to the square is free.
