Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A gorgeous chapel dedicated aptly to sailors, it is highly ornate. Beginning with a façade that has many attractive features.
Construction was finalised in 1815 and had a somewhat turbulent history dictated by societal changes. During the past 65 years substantial renovations have been undertaken.
A glorious high altar is just one of the exquisite aspects. Numerous sculptures of saints and Biblical figures are to admired.

Capilla de los Marineros is another lovely little church. It is quite elaborate, but a little limited in its extent. It is on the "other" side of the river, and we came across it while heading to another venue. Not a must-see, but it might be worth a quick stop if you happen to be nearby.

Having visited some of the more popular ecclesiastical buildings. Sneaking past the leather door guard was a real treat. It is a chapel, the inside of which I found more interesting than the cathedral.

Once a chapel built in 1815, later a theatre and even a coal warehouse. In the 1960s during the Franco period again converted to a chapel and recently renovated in 2010. The chapel is the center of a "hermandad" (brotherhood) a form of Roman Catholic social organization.

This beautiful little church was built between 1759 and 1815 as a sailors' chapel. Many of the men who set out on voyages of discovery said their final prayers before departure here. See the striking statue of the Esperanza de Triana-The Virgin of Hope. Also there is a striking statue of Christ.

As some other churches in Seville ( Macarena, Jesus del Gran Poder...) this is an example of traditional architecture going on in the 20th century, because of the religiosity
of Spanish society and elite, during Franco 's dictature, from 1939 ( after civil war ) up to 1975. The style of this church is then average, with nothing noticeable. For those who like dramatic Spanish sculpture, there are one or two pathetic ones.
You had much rather go and visit the "cathedral of Triana": Santa Ana, one of the most beautiful church of Seville.

Absolutely brilliant church in the triana area which we came across as a part of our walking tour. The best part is the statue of the Christ bearing the cross which is absolutely mesmerizing
