Beyond the Iberian peninsula most people are rather uncomfortable about bullfighting, which makes a visit to this venerable bullring with attached museums all the more fascinating – not least for those who would never consider attending a bullfight. An inspection of the ring, and the backstage facilities that sustain it (the Plaza, of necessity, has its own ER) is a good counterpoint to a browse around a museum which is full of artwork and costumes celebrating the skill of the matador together with the mounted heads of their animal nemeses. Go with an open mind and you’ll leave with a much better understanding of bullfighting’s place in the life and culture of Andalucía.

It was interesting to see the empty bull ring and some of the behind the scenes. Neat place to see in person if you have time and its not far outside the main center of old Seville.

I am against bull fighting but the bull ring is stunning and worth a visit. I booked onto a tour and only had to wait ten minutes. I found the tour really informative and just the right speed. We were given plenty of time in...More

First of all, you cannot visit only the bullring without a walking tour. The information given while in the bullring is interesting and I can understand why you are only allowed with a guide. BUT the guides are not very efficient. There are several guides...More

While I'm no fan of bullfighting as a sport, it is still nice to be able to witness this arena which is still very much part of the cultural fabric of Andalucia. The guided tour is included with your entrance ticket. You will have to...More

My companions had no desire to see a bull fight but were quite comfortable doing the tour. It takes you into the arena and through a museum with good explanations of the history and origins of bullfighting. Glorifies it a little but that was to...More

Impressive bull ring with a nice sympathetic tour.. Lots of history attached to it and much pomp and ceremony. It was stifling hot and you can see why the Sombra tickets are twice the price!

The bullfighting arena is regular, but the guided tour made it worthwhile. The green screen photo is pretty cool.

The guide was great, she answered all our questions, even those about the morality of the fight. The structure is well worth a visit, architecturally very interesting. If is difficult for us to understand the acceptance of such cruelty, but it is a big part...More

They are open for tours 9:30am to 7pm, they start a tour about every half hour. There was a wait when we went so we bought our tickets an hour ahead then went and got Gelato while we waited :)
