Triana
About
For a more authentic and decidedly less well-scrubbed experience, it’s worth crossing the river to explore this scruffy but vibrant old quarter, historically the centre of azulejo, or glazed-tile production. There are plenty of tapas bars for sustenance to sustain your ceramic shopping, and it’s fun to seek out the surviving corrales. These tiny buildings with flower-smothered courtyards once housed extended the gypsy families from which emerged Spain’s greatest flamenco dynasties.

Vibrate old town vibe. Great bars and restaurants.
We visited here a couple of times, crossing the river and wandering around for a few hours. The mercado is worth popping into as are some of the old bars and restaurants. It comes to life at night, we would probably stay in this area next time we visit Seville. The walk along the river is lovely.

    Ceramic paradise
Quite a special place to visit and simply walk around. Our primary goal was to visit the numerous ceramic shops there and there were numerous to visit. We did end up buying some smaller pieces particularly Christmas ornaments and the prices were reasonable. There were numerous larger objects that we contemplated but just the thought of lugging them around for the rest of the trip gave us angina so we passed. We will without a doubt visit again the next time we are in the area. I would recommend getting there by taxi or Uber if you are over a mile away. We stayed near the train station and Uber worked wonderfully to get us exactly where we wanted to go. Enjoy

    Across the River.
The other side of the city, Triana is located on the opposite side of the river. Lots of shops and some smallnarrow streets, but no daytime atmosphere. Might be better at night, but not sure how safe it might be then.

You can definitely give this area a miss if you aren't in Seville for long. The market that it's known for didn't have very many prepared food options even though we were there well before closing. We were two girls travelling on our own and didn't feel very safe here so spent maybe 10 minutes before heading back over the bridge.

Ugly restaurant, very average food. I don’t recommend . My fish was raw, everything was very greasy and not tasty. Sercvice was good and they were nice enough to not charge my taste less raw fish. 👍🏻

I have to wonder why this place has attracted tourists. Only in history books this place has relevance but now a days, full of pick pockets and expensive bad food.

Try and visit after 10pm on a Saturday night. The river bridge and surrounds are packed with locals and visitors all enjoying themselves. A truly electric atmosphere which seemed quite safe.

This is an amazing town filled with Spanish culture and history. We visited bullfighting, museum, and Arena. We also did a popular tour in the evening. The locals are extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is warm.

We found our visit in the triana area thoroughly enjoyable with a relaxing vibe of cafes and restaurants. The neighbourhood is filled colour and diversity. Triana is also picturesque along the riverfront

Tirana is prettiest from the other side of the river where you can see all the colorful houses/buildings on the river. They are beautiful, especially during sunset. Red! Blue! White! Yellow! Triana is spectacular!
