The Alameda de Hércules (Hercules mall), or simply La Alameda, is a garden square built in 1574. It was originally a promenaded public garden, named after the eight rows of white poplar trees (álamos in Spanish) that fill its central part. It was the oldest...More

We stumbled across this when we got a bit lost so this was a bonus for us. Glad we saw them but don't know if there was much else to see around this area.

The Alameda de Hércules is a sandy, pedestrianised, semi park area running almost parallel to the Guadalquivir river from the Macarena almost to the city centre. This is one of the main nightlife areas with many bars, cafés and restaurants which all seem to have...More

This place is so full of people. You can feel the energy of Seville on this square. I recommend it especially in the evening.

Rather long than square, this has always be the spot to be, in Sevilla. One century ago, or more, here was the place where the girls would hang around, and wink at the young men; now it's the place with the as many cafes pavements...More

I went here one evening for dinner. The next day I passed through (during the daytime) and my friend said “this was where we were last night”. I couldn’t believe it was the same place. At night it’s so different – lively, filled with people...More

A massive plaza between the two pairs of statues, acting more like a bike or skate park. It just lacked any theatrical presence such as Hercules Mall evokes.

We stayed at the Hotel Sevilla Macarena this past March it's not really close to Alameda de Hercules but it's in the neighborhood. We walked over there quite a few times and it's a very nice area. We also stayed at Hotel... More
