Me and my Grandfather came to the Catedral as although we are not especially religious, we knew that Spain was known for beautiful architecture such as Cathedrals. In this respect, the cathedral did not disappoint. It was very tall and had beautiful elements inside, from the alter to religious pieces such as the Holy Ark. To enter the cathedral, it... More

This church is always closed, it opens only few hours per day and closes very early (at 5/5.30 pm) so when Spanish end their lunch. Outside is very nice.

Only one reviewer has discussed the most important display to be found here. There is a shroud, that is purported to be from Christ's crucifixion. You can see the stains that were caused by the shroud being placed on the Savior's face. You will learn that they have made the comparison to the Shroud of a Turin and there are... More

I have visited this splendid city many times and it seems to get more beautiful with every visit, especially now that many buildings have been restored and the centre made pedestrian only. The cathedral is one of the most spectacular and beautiful buildings of the city, and sets off the huge square that is so often full of people and... More

I've lived in Oviedo for almost four years now, and I still gaze up at the cathedral every time I walk by. It is so impressive and beautiful, it's one of my favorites in Spain. The inside is wonderful as well. I took a tour a few years ago, I think you have to pay now, but it's worth it.... More

I thought that overall this cathedral was average (there are so many in Spain...) but what was unique was the number of different parts of the grounds that you have access to. It felt like a thorough visit.

It's a beautiful place but entry is not free. Pilgrims pay €4.0. Entry should be complementary to pilgrims buying the passport.

A visit for a senior is five Euros; this includes the most comprehensive audio guide I've ever come across, covering the cathedral, museum, cloister in great detail. So much so, that your eyes would be glazing over well before each number finished. Having said that, you can move on when you want and there is some charming religious background music... More

Beautifully restored gothic Cathedral with lots of baroque decorative features. The self-guided audio tour is very well done. My favorite part of the building is the reconstructed cloister. Well worth a visit.
