Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent spot for surfing. Some nice bars and few restaurants are inside this beautiful and typical Spanish village. However, if you are looking for a nice beach to spend the day, don't go there. There's a big area of sand there, but the tide variation bothers a little. You may have a nice time during the morning at the beach and, in the afternoon, not.

Quiet, traditional Basque Country coastal village. Would be a 10 out of 10 but weather was poor and not many things to do when it's wet. Great beach

The floor is painted blue like in other areas of Bizkaia, which causes confusion. We spent 5 minutes for a photo and they fined us 40 euros. In fact, we have seen the municipal government and they did not care. It's not worth going at all. Other towns on the coast as beautiful or more and without scamming anyone

This is a great beach. No crowds, and the town is very laid back and peaceful. Makes a great day trip.

If you are traveling in the Basque Country (and you should), you should make a few stops in between the big cities and Mundaka is one of them , even if you don't surf.
The views are so nice and the people are extremely friendly, the beach is gorgeous and it is definitely worth spending a day there. If you do surf, maybe even a few :)

Beach looked perfect for surfing if only you could! Huge golden beach and not overcrowded. Ambience seemed relaxed with real enthusiasts around

Our private tour driver, Mikel ("Meekell") of Tours By Basques (see the TBB review elsewhere in TA) brought us to Mundaka for photos and lunch. The photo ops were excellent, but the weather sucked! Despite the rain, we enjoyed this little fishing town and had lunch at a delightful cafe right by Mundaka's picture-perfect little harbor. The food was tasty, the views nice, and the photo ops plentiful. Scenic town with cobblestones, cute apartments, etc. Nice place to visit.

Hi, thinking of having a holiday here but would like to know how dog friendly the area is? Can I take a dog on the beaches and into local bars?
