The Tour was amazing! I would highly recommend it to any GoT fan! Maria was a great guide and very knowledgeable about all the inside information on the series and the different places along the tour. Although the two guides had to deal with a flat tire which caused a bit of a delayed start, Maria adjusted the tour plan so that we still got to have the full experience. It was an absolutely great tour from start to finish.

We were so excited to go on the Dragonstone tour, anticipating it was going to be one of the highlights of our trip. However, 48-hours before our tour date we received an standardized email from the tour company that our tour has been cancelled citing attendance issues as the cause for cancellation.
While I understand these situations happen from time-to-time it was unacceptable how little notice or lack of alternate arrangements was provided by the tour company. When we received our cancellation email we immediately went to rebook for another day on Dragonstone Tour’s site and noticed this tour only is offered on Fridays now (September 2023) and bookings can be arranged 1-week in advance at the latest. If this is indeed the case I don’t understand why cancellation emails/refunds are offered a week before the tour rather the 48-hours before. This at least provides some time to make alternative arrangements either with Dragonstone Tours or another tour company.
We paid in advance and in full nearly two months ahead of our original tour date as a result, this short notice period has made us feel discarded and ultimately stranded us in Bilbao with a day we left open for this tour. While Bilbao is a beautiful city that offers a lot, our trip to Gaztelugatxe (Dragonstone) was supposed to be the highlight.
To the Dragstone Tours moderator who is replying to other comments on this page I implore you to share this feedback with your team and design a better contingency plan for these types of situations as I assume I am not the only one effected by this. Cancellations, while regrettable, can be communicated in far more effective ways particularly when notice is provided early.

Hello,
First of all we'd like to apologise for the inconvenience that this cancellation caused. It is very rare that we have to cancel our tours but unfortunately yours was the only booking we had therefore we couldn't go ahead with it.
We cannot cancel a week in advance in order to give the oportunity to other travellers to join and, when it's needed, we try to cancel bookings with enough amount of time to give the chance to our travellers to book with another company as we only operate on Fridays (half-day tour) and Sundays (full-day tour). We cancelled your booking for Sunday on a Thursday.
While we of course understand the disappointment, this is a policy that is accepted at the time of booking as we explain that it can be cancelled due to low numbers.
Also, as you booked through a third party and not with our company, we cannot contact you directly due to data protection laws and had to proceed with the cancellation through the system that they have implemented. That's the reason you got a standarised message.
We also had to pay a fee for this cancellation on top of the full reimbursement you got.
I hope you understand that a cancellation on our part is definitely not ideal not only because of that but because of the pain this causes our travellers too.
We again apologise for this cancellation and hope you can give us a chance in the future to show you our professionalism that is reflected on the rest of testimonies form our past travellers.

We always aim to make it enjoyable for everybody as sometimes our travellers haven't watched the show.
We give out explanations about San Juan de Gazgtelugatxe both historically and what happened during filming and also about Butrón Castle which wasn't a GoT location but we turn it into one for the ones who like to cosplay with our swords and cloaks.

We paid around €240 for two of us (to see the juan de gaztelugatxe), since visiting the site is controlled. Tickets are actually *free* if booked in advance (it's a crowd control measure). On the day there was a weather warning & a chance we would not be allowed entry - something we were only told after the bus was on the motorway. When we arrived, the weather was Ok, but just turned out the tour group had not been booked in due to an admin error. That got sorted (luckily), and we got to see it. This was our only option (individual tickets having been booked out in advance), but the tour experience added little to the day other than the bus transport & a brief stop at two other sites (a beach & a small castle ruin). I hate to leave a negative review, but €240 for a photograph we could have had for free with our hire car sitting idle at our hotel.. moral of the story is .. book ahead, DIY ! The site is well worth the visit.

Our half-day tour costs 65€ per person for adult tickets which we think is good value for the 5h of our Game of Thrones guided tour.
We visit for 2h San Juan de Gaztelugatxe (Dragonstone), visit Butrón Castle, a medieval like castle that is not in ruins as it has been recently purchased. There you can also dress up with our swords and cloaks. Finally, our third stop is Muriola Beach which was used as King’s Landing.
Everything is fully described prior making a booking in order to avoid disappointment on the day of the tour.
Regarding what happened in Gaztelugatxe, as we explained on the bus, the system cancelled our booking and this is something that has happened before when yellow or orange alerts have been issued. On the day of the tour, there was a yellow alert throughout the whole Basque Coast. As we explain on our additional information page, some places that we cover on our tour might be affected due to weather warnings. It could look like the weather is fine but we will always follow the guidelines and put our travellers safety above everything.
We’re sad to hear our tour didn’t live up to your expectations,

I did the half day tour last year as it was all I could fit into my schedule. This year, I booked the full day tour, and it was SO worth it! Three major Game of Thrones filming sites to visit and a bonus castle to visit for a photo stop, Plenty of time at each location for photos and an ample hour for lunch (not included). The tour never felt rushed and the guide and driver were the best!

This was a great tour. They really put effort into theming the entire experience. They had GoT music playing on the drive, they showed us scenes from GoT that featured the places we would visit, and they even offered cloaks and such for pictures if people wanted it. This tour was also great as a solo traveler. It was easy to connect with others on the tour!
The only thing that could have been better is the stop for lunch. There were a lot of options, but that actually made it really difficult to know where to go. Some advice on where to go that would serve good food and that would serve us fast enough would have been helpful!

I have struggled to find how to review our fantastic tasting tour of Bilbao, but I can now see that Games of Thrones tours are the specialty, and that is why I could not see how to review the tremendous tour.
Our lovely guide was enthusiastic and clearly knowledgeable about many aspects of Bilbao. We enjoyed hearing about how Bilbao has changed over the last decade or so.
The cakes/sweet specialities we tasted, were accompanied by explanation and fun facts.
We much enjoyed our tour and will book a GOT tour with this company next time we visit beautiful Bilbao.

Wonderful tour with great insights into some GoT sets. No need to be a huge GoT fan in order to have a good time on this trip. Besides, the tour was well organized and the bus very comfortable.

It's a common feeling among our travellers that you don't need to be a GoT fan to enjoy this tour and it is true! The beautiful sights on our half-day tour (San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, Muriola Beach and Butrón Castle) are more than enough themselves.
However, we are also very passionate about sharing our culture all at the same time we get to enjoy our favourite TV show!
