I haven't been inside this auditorium (closed then) as they say its a multi purpose mix of exhibition and cultural events, auditorium. But my friends and I have toured outside and it seems to be a modern structure in a historical setting as the city itself is composed of very old buildings and infrastructures in the Basque country of Spain.

We crossed the bridge from old town to check out this very odd and seemingly out of place conference center near Zurriola Beach. We couldn't get near it because there was some kind of film festival going on. Police and security guards were all over the place, as were red carpets and some very expensive cars (George Clooney was reportedly... More

The 2 cube design by architect Rafael Moneo is supposed to “perpetuate the geography and emphasize the harmony between the natural and the artificial”, but that all seems to be lost on us. But, hey, what do we know…the imposing buildings won the Contemporary Architecture Prize Mies van der Rohe, due to “the exceptional character” of the project and its... More

I would not have gone here other then for a conference. in my view it was a shame that they built it in this style supposedly to represent the breakwaters after Franco pulled down the original casino

When I first saw this building I must admit that my first thoughts included the expected adjectives "modern", "contemporary", "innovative" etc, and I felt as though I should automatically admire this structure. The more I saw of it however, the more I came to the conclusion that it is actually not a nice looking building at all. I haven't been... More

I do not know why this is a tourist attraction; it is a boring looking building with little to it. Unless one was going for the concerts inside which I doubt one would be if travelling, then not really worth seeing.

Most of the time during our stay in San Sebastian, we kept ourselves to the old part of the city, and on our last day, we could no longer contain our curiosity. We crossed the bridge to see what this strange building was, and what was going on the other side. We walked first on the back side of the... More

Ugly building obscuring the beach. Surrounding attractions are many, however: the bridge, watching the tide, the ice cream shop across the bridge, the art gallery across the road..

So lucky to catch the last concert of the August music festival, the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra with tickets bought just 2 days ahead, from the Kursaal office (96 euros for 2, NZ 175). Wonderful auditorium, easily accessible; be prepared for locals using their fans throughout the concert (it was very hot)-they were very polite and gracious to us visitors. A... More

The film festival was on during my stay and this was where the action was happening. Near the sea front. You cannot miss it. Plenty of people around.
