- Gloria-KarinMalmö, Sweden17 contributionsBeautiful aquarium, both indoors and outdoorsMy family and I, who consist of two retirees and two adult kids, loved this aquarium. We went on a sunny semi-warm day and really enjoyed that the aquarium has exhibitions both indoors and outdoors. We didn't go to the 3D Aquadome due to my dad being sensitive to loud sound but I'm sure that it would've been nice aswell. Yet, what I want to convey is that the aquarium is worth a visit even without any extras, there is plenty to see and we were fortunate to see the feeding of the sharks. The recommendation of reserving three hours for this activity (which I've read somewhere) is accurate!Thank you for your review, knowing that you enjoy the experience we work for every day is the greatest joy for the whole team at Palma Aquarium. Palma Aquarium is a marine park with 24,000 m2 of facilities housing more than 8,000 specimens of 700 species of fauna and flora from all over the world. We also have one of the deepest shark tanks in Europe, an exhibition of live corals that is unique in the world, and our Jungle is the largest rooftop garden in Spain and one of the largest in Europe.Written 1 May 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 30 April 2024
- TaailsLuxembourg59 contributionsSuper AquariumOne of the best aquariums I have had the opportunity to visit. The entrance was already of a better standard than that of some aquariums. The animals are all well cared for in large ponds. Furthermore, I was able to visit the “Backstages” of the aquarium (where visitors are not supposed to go). The cinema was ok, a little short but not too expensive (€4 per person). The best activity was the "Shark Vision Boat". We go in a small boat over the shark tank and the boat has a glass floor that you can see through. In any case, it is one of the best aquariums I have visited and the price is completely justified. - Leila S3 contributionsOne of the best, stunningI have always been crazy about sharks, couldn’t wait to see what was here. Great big tanks, full of beautiful sharks, so many different species and everything was spotless. The guides were knowledgeable and interesting. Even stopped for a coffee and doughnut in the cafe. Actually ended up spending over 3 hrs there. So well organised and kept, excellent day.Thank you for your review, knowing that you enjoy the experience we work for every day is the greatest joy for the whole team at Palma Aquarium.Written 1 July 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 June 2024
- Kate W3 contributionsSo specialOne of my always go to on holidays is a zoo, farm or aquarium. This one was definitely one of the best, everywhere was very clean, the staff were interesting and interested, answering a few of my silly questions. The 3D tour was excellent and was filled with so much information. They have a wide range of different species and of course, everyone is excited to see the sharks, the tank here is stunning. Could have stayed longer, a different world.Thank you for your review, knowing that you enjoy the experience we work for every day is the greatest joy for the whole team at Palma Aquarium.Written 1 July 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 June 2024
- stephenneville192Cork, Ireland3 contributionsJuly family day out from AlcúdiaMy partner and our 2 kids (3 &6) took a trip to palma aquarium yesterday from Alcúdia. When we arrived we were able to skip most of the que due to having booked with our hotel which was great. Had read a lot of reviews in regards to it being very crowded and the possibility of number control being needed and I must say for the 1st part this is very much the case..it was very crowded and it was all a bit uncomfortable until you came through the Mediterranean parts and out by the buffet restaurant.. From here it gets much better as ppl aren’t being funnelled and can go there on way deciding on their own path. The big blue area and the whale 3D cinema were definitely my personal favourite with my two little girls loving the turtles and the jungle area which was pretty cool with lovely waterfall and parrot picture opportunities. They also got to snorkel with sting rays which one enjoyed but our 3 year old not so much but that was a personal choice. Now onto the few negative points. 1. No separate waste bins (plastic/organic/cans) around the facility apart from the buffet area which when I tried to dispense my own rubbish into the labelled bins a staff member was less than happy as I had put a tomato into the organic bin which was incorrectly labelled. This seems silly when they have a whole part dedicated to plastic in the oceans and how it harms marine life. 2. And definitely the most infuriating was the end and the aggression shown by the employees to get your pics which might have been taken through the tour. I mean shouting at us because we hadn’t been given a ticket by the ppl who took our pictures.. then the aggression to buy the pics when there’s no obligation..there is roughly 7/8 staff members which more or less block the exit to get you to buy the photos which we had intended to anyway. I actually had to return back through them with my 3 year old to bring her to the toilet and I was met with the same aggression again on my way back. I actually asked the guy who shouted at us his mane and for the life of me I can’t remember but I wish I did because he was despicable. Overall a fab day out but they would want to look at how they deal with people at the end. I wouldn’t cause a scene infront of my daughters but had they not being there I would have told them where to go and made no secret of itThank you for your comments, they help us to identify areas for improvement that allow us to continue offering our visitors the quality experience we work for every day. At certain times of the day or on days when the weather is bad, the number of visitors is higher. In order to guarantee an adequate experience in our aquarium we strictly comply with the capacity of our facilities but we take note of your input in order to look for options for improvement on these days. We regret that your experience at Palma Aquarium has been affected by the photography company, we will take your comments into account and advise those responsible so that they can correct their customer service. - Leanne BOldham, United Kingdom17 contributionsBook onlineGreat day out with easy transport links from Palma (number 25 bus is the quickest route). Entry is just under €120 (£102) for 3+1 at the kiosk (adult price over 12's). I'd recommend booking online to save pennies and get in the faster queue. There are plenty of fish to explore with good information to the side of the tanks, but i feel like a tourist information guide would be well served. There are a few places to grab a snack, pizza, ice cream, or coffee, with a small play area recommended for kids around 4 to 10. There's also a shop for gifts at the end of your visit. I would say this is around a 5-6 hour trip with children and a good break with some play time.Thank you for your review, knowing that you enjoy the experience we work for every day is the greatest joy for the whole team at Palma Aquarium.Written 28 August 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 August 2024
- Nora G9 contributionsGood experienceWas all we expected it was! There were plenty of fine fish and corals. Coolest were the sharks swimming over your head. Was also very nice outdoor area with turtles, waterfalls and various fish. It was also possible to buy food at the café they have in the outdoor area. I recommend going here if it is a day with a little worse weather.Takk for anmeldelsen din. We planned to visit here on a day when the weather forecast was for clouds & blustery winds, as seemed like a good place to spend inside when there wasn't much sun around. We booked this for 2 adults and 3 children through the Jet2 rep at our hotel, transfers were included and it was 136 euros in total which included the 4D cinema as well.
The experience was great, some beautiful fish, coral, tanks etc and the highlight were the sharks. We didn't do the shark boat but there was a sizeable extra charge for this.
The outdoor grounds were really well tended, and the jungle section was tremendous - the kids spent ages watching the turtles in there!
Some great sections for kids also, the outdoor play area was a good size with a bouncy castle as well. There was an indoor soft play but we didn't use that as it was full. They liked the 'create your own fish' thing where their pictures were brought to life on the big screen.
We didn't eat at the restaurants so not sure how good the food is, the aquarium is only a few minutes' walk from Platja de Palma with plenty of options there.

Palma Aquarium was an excursion chosen by my teens. The tanks are huge and clean. The fishes seem happy enough. The Shark tank is something to admire Its so tall and goes right over your head.
We got gold passes/tickets which included backstage pass. This allowed us to tour the behind the scenes stuff that takes place helping marine life recover and repopulate. Our guide gave lots of information. He was multilingual so every one could hear the info in our native tongues. He taught us the importance of getting help for marine animals that are trapped and Majorca has marine sea life emergency number you can call should you find any sea life in need of help.
Our gold tickets included lunch which was a big burger chips and pudding and drink. Not sure if there was any options and the language barrier meant I didn’t bother ask. As the first offer was fine anyway. I will be on my language app more often. I just want functional language skills.
As you approach restaurant and souvenir area you are met with the pics you took earlier when you walked in and with the Macaw Parrot bird already printed etc. It was €10 euros per picture. The cost of our trip to the Aquarium was expensive but included transfers to and from the venue via tui excursions. I always feel Aquariums are over priced for what it is but they are worth visiting. The teens were satisfied. Oh and plenty of seating areas for you to sit down relax and take it all in.

Not cheap, but very diverse. Great animal world inside and outside, plus a playground and lots of discoveries for children. Unfortunately, it's incredibly crowded on rainy Sundays. No idea if they know the upper limit despite time slot tickets. So the cool indoor play area was closed at the end due to overcrowding. The huge shop through which you have to run the gauntlet at the end was a great comfort for the children's tears... But really, an overall recommendable experience.

This visit to the Palma aquarium should absolutely be avoided. For what it offers, the price is a real scandal. Nearly €36 for a 20-minute visit and a short film where you have to wait 2 hours before being able to access the room.
The team is dedicated to trying to sell you your photo taken when you arrived or with a parrot on your shoulder... The ocean is far away. A turtle in a pond outside. Nothing on the environmental state of the oceans. Two little sharks circling like hell. And apart from a few small aquariums or vivariums, images, games, screens...

Absolutely shocking experience. Do not go if you value your safety. Having booked online being assured of reduced capacity and strict entrance times to reduce crowds etc, I arrived to find a huge queue. Was left waiting nearly an hour in very cramped conditions with no social distancing being respected. On finally getting past the ticket both I was forced to queue for a photograph and then told I must remove my mask to be photographed, so that they can later try and Rip you off for a poor quality picture for 10 euros. They refuse to tell you it will be this much when they actually take your photo! We then queued again for over 10 minutes to get into the actual aquarium! This was a horrible experience too as people without masks breath down your neck fighting for a space to look into the tanks. Far too many people allowed in at once meant it was absolute chaos inside. It felt traumatizing trying to fight for a space to be away from other people. This is greed on the behalf of the company, falsely claiming to be covid secure but allowing far too many people in to be anywhere near safe! We had to fight our way to the exit as soon as possible, and even that was made difficult as you are forced through a crowded area where they forcefully try to sell your photo to you! Hugely dissatisfied.

We are very sorry that you got such a bad impression of your visit to Palma Aquarium. Wearing the mask inside is mandatory and we have signage along the route and a team of guides who are responsible for remembering it. In outdoor areas it is not mandatory. We understand that to take photos some visitors take it off to take a picture when there are no people nearby. We will report internally and take it into account to detect points of improvement in the quality of our services.

It was a nice aquarium with a good variety of fish, and of course the sharks were very impressive. We paid extra for the 'Giants of the Ocean' show, which was good but the whale noises during the show were extremely loud.
It was also quite expensive, both getting into the aquarium and getting there. We travelled from Santa Ponsa, and the bus and taxi fares to get back and forth were far more than our research had suggested they would be. We were quoted approx €50 to €60 to get a taxi back to Santa Ponsa. We negotiated that down to €40, however, tracking the journey on Googlemaps on the way back it became obvious that the taxi was taking the long way back to justify the price, and it put us off having another day out in Palma, although it looked to be a beautiful place and I will look to stay in Palma if I ever go back to Mallorca.

Booked with tickets agent in Magaluf, included entrance plus free bus which picked up outside our hotel and 3D whale experience.
Lots of different and varied fish/sea life to see. Especially enjoyed the glass bottomed shark boat (10€ each extra). You can also pay to swim way the rays, didn’t do it but looked amazing.
Indoor and outdoor play areas for children. Also, virtual aquarium where they can colour their fish, turtle, etc and watch it swimming around. Great fun.
Visit was for 5 hours which I thought would be too long, but lots to do and see so went really quick.

The place was clean and the staff were friendly but it was very busy with not really that much to look at. We bought the photograph that gets taken as soon as you get through the entrance and we got photographs with a parrot too as they were very good quality and the proceeds go to the Aquarium’s protection of species and conservation campaigns.
We went as part of a tour package and struggled to fill the 3hrs. We thought we could fill some time by having an early lunch as we’d been up since 6.30am but there wasn’t anywhere serving food at 11.30am so we left early and had a lovely meal at a place across the road instead.

Thank you for sharing your opinion, we greatly value the contributions of all our visitors.
Palma Aquarium is a marine park where you can visit the 24,000m2 of the park to observe and contemplate the beauty of our oceans, as our facilities are home to more than 8,000 specimens of more than 700 different species of fauna and flora from all over the world. You can also visit the jungle, which is the largest rooftop garden in Spain and one of the largest in Europe, we also have one of the deepest shark tanks in Europe, as well as an exhibition of live corals that is unique in the world. In addition, you can enjoy our gardens, the whale exhibition, our interactive games, the complementary activities that you can do during your visit such as the 3D Cinema Aquadome or the Shark Vision Boat.
In our facilities you will always find several options where you can have something to eat during your visit to the aquarium. In addition to the cafeteria, where we serve a buffet of hot dishes, salads or sandwiches, we have other options such as our à la carte restaurant Neptuno or the Oasis.

We had booked an entrytime and purchased tickets online beforehand, but we had to wait in line outside and we were stuffed inside into the chaos with way too many people.
The aquarium it self was nice, but their COVID-19 safety protocols were just one huge joke. There was at least 100 people in the same room at all times with no room for personal space. We waited in line in front of every single tank, but we were passed by multiple people who obviously thought they were more important than we were.
While waiting for the whale-movie to start, we were forced to wait in a small room with at least 50 other people before we got into the theater, which was packed until the last seat.
Huge disappointment.

We are sorry that Palma Aquarium has not met your expectations, although we have thousands of animals of hundreds of marine species, one of the largest shark tanks in Europe and the largest exhibition of live corals in the world.

We 3 seniors visited Palma Aquarium last week and had a brilliant time. There was so much to see and we were lucky to be there at feeding time so got to see the sharks and rays being fed which was great. The Palma Aquarium is linked into an ocean conservation organisation so if you get your photo taken at the start and then buy it later, the ten euros goes towards helping to keep the seas plastic free and to rescue animals that have been snared in it. They really do brilliant work there. Not only does the aquarium have extensive viewing areas inside, but also have a Mediterranean garden with other viewing areas outside. The aquarium is divided into different areas, such a Mediterranean, Jungle, etc so a wide range to species to see. The restaurant is also very good with nice food available at reasonable prices and a lovely play area for kids and a nice gift shop too. It would be great for a family visit - lots of kids there having a 'whale' of a time!! :-)

Sollte man eher vor Ort die Tickets kaufen oder online bestellen? Und kann man dort einen Koffer während des Besuches lagern?

Hi. According to the Palma aquarium website they are currently still closed due to Covid19. Does anyone know when they might re-open? Thank you.

How long would you spend here?
Written 20 September 2019
We spent 5 hours here. If you time it in for the live feeding it's worth the entrance fee. Afraid I can't remember exact times when the sharks get fed possibly 1pm
