    An ancient and tranquil space
I'm an artist and I spent over an hour in this ancient and tranquil place. I could feel the history in the air. The garden area is beautifully planted, with seating and tables to relax and take in the atmosphere. The hot baths room is astonishing and there was information in three languages in each of the three rooms. It's easy to miss the entrance, in fact, I walked past it the first time but I should have looked left where the very clear signage is, rather than staring up at the ancient surrounding wall! Absolutely worth the 3.50 Euros (cash only).

An enjoyable walk through the back streets to find it
I read about these small ancient Arab baths built on former Roman baths in Palma de Mallorca. So on a recent port visit we set out to try and find them. Thanks to Google Maps this wasn't too difficult, and we enjoyed wandering through Palma's back streets and small squares on the way to and from the baths. This took us about 10-15 mins away from Palma's main tourist area which we enjoyed. The entrance was a few Euro and the baths were more interesting than expected. They are set in a rose garden inside an old square stone building. It provided good photo opportunities inside as well as an introductory video in Spanish, German and English. They're something a little different and well worth the effort to find the baths.

One of the most emblematic monuments
Tucked away down a side street in the historic city centre the Arab Baths of Palma de Mallorca are one of the most emblematic monuments on the island, apart from the few examples of Islamic architecture preserved in Palma. The baths date back to the eleventh century, allowing for only the partial conservation of its rooms and architectural elements. According to experts, the preserved remains were possibly part of the palace of a Muslim nobleman. The baths have been beautifully preserved and there is an informative video and plenty of information providing some history of the baths. The surrounding gardens are also beautiful and very tranquil with large orange and lemon trees providing some respite from the sun. The €3.50pp entrance fee makes this a worthwhile visit.

    Worth a Quick Visit
I enjoyed seeing these ancient baths, there were only several rooms but they had more information on a video playing in a loop. The gardens outside are beautifully maintained. Worth a quick visit and the entry fee is very low.

It looks unassuming from outside go in and- you slip back in time , the building is like a time capsule. you see all the history but you walk in their world. Then you get to walk around their intracranial garden with plants that we normal see in miniature and struggling to survive on window sills, here they thrive, surrounded by gardenia and exotic flowers, a true haven and the peace and bird song, why- we are in the middle of Palma?

The Arab Baths of Palma de Mallorca are one of the most emblematic monuments on the island, in addition to the few examples of Islamic architecture preserved in Palma.
The Arab baths of Palma de Mallorca are located in the gardens of Can Fontirroig, in the historic center of the city. Inside the building, the central room is used for hot baths, which will surprise you with its impressive dome.
The baths date from the 11th century, which has allowed a partial conservation of its rooms and architectural elements. According to experts, the preserved remains possibly formed part of the palace of some Muslim nobleman.
They are small but never the less worth the visit.

A charming historical site with a lovely peaceful garden. Only a small area, but the remains of the moorish baths are well preserved providing a good insight of the original structure. We enjoyed our visit and they only charge a small entrance fee.

Visited the Arab Baths while on a cruise layover and I enjoyed it very much. It’s a small sight and it probably won’t take you more than an hour to visit (including relaxing in the gardens a bit) but the raw excavation of the ruins to me are exciting. I loved the moorish arches and columns in the main room. The gardens were very charming to go through. For the small amount of euros (I believe I paid 3 euros) it’s with it. Combined with the Almudina palace, I definitely felt the Arab influence on Mallorca. Hint: follow the signs closely if you are coming from the palace/cathedral as it gets to be a maze until you get to the baths (15 minute walk)

This hammam is small, but an interesting ruin over a thousand years old. A Saracen (Muslim) nobleman used it like we would use our private hot tub today—hence its small size. The video (in several languages) is very interesting and the interpretive signage helps visitors understand the hot room and the warm room that you tour; the cold room no longer exists. The information helps you understand how they heated and dispersed the water through the rooms. The arches are lovely and be sure to wander through the small garden attached to the baths. They have a lovely jasmine archway and various sub-tropical trees and plants. I agree that the entry fee seems excessive.

I have seen Arab Baths all over the world, this is one of the smallest and the most insignificant ever. Skip it.

You are right in the middle of Mediterranean Sea. Either way you go you’ll find better ones. Go North to see the one in Girona, 100 time bigger and better, or….head south to Tunis or Morocco to see real ones.

This is to avoid if you are tight for time. Nothing there but a very small garden

This was a great quick visit during a cruise stop. It is cash only but really cheap (€3) and well worth it. There are nice gardens to sit in and you can also visit the Arab bath ruins and imagine the thousand years of history there. Short video plays in a loop in English, German and Spanish. Also has a restroom there in case you get inspired!
