My partner and I have visited Palma for many years. The whole place is fantastic day and night. Architecture, people. Majority of the buildings are beautiful. Well worth a visit. It’s the only reason I return to Majorca

Interesting Architecture
Nov 2019
Located on Carrier de la Llotja next to the waterfront and not far from the Plaça de la Drassana, this is a 15th century building or architectural interest. Originally a Merchants Trading building, it has a high palm-tree like columns supporting Gothic arches to the roof. Just simply go inside – the entrance is free and it’s worth 10-15 minutes for photos and to read the English information plaques.

Small but attractive.

We took a look inside this nice building and discovered it was originally a Merchants trading building when Palma was a major port for Mediterranean Trade. It lost it's significance when trading opened out into the Atlantic through Gibraltar. It was later used as a grain store and also served as an Army Barracks for a while. Lovely Gothic arches supporting the roof. Entrance was free.

Superbly ornate building
Sep 2019
One of the places I'd meant to go to this afternoon but forgot was the Llotja - this is a medieval Merchants Guild similar to the one in Valencia. This was just open for us to wander into so we had a quick look around and admired the architecture. It has some superbly sculpted columns and delicately carved windows, very impressive and only a few minutes walk from the cathedral. I didn't have my proper camera as we were actually going out for food so the photos are just with an iphone.

Most gorgeous ancient building, fresh and quiet, right on the harbour, all surrounded by lovely little restos, on the border of the evening life streets.
