Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Terrible regime. Stsrt at tee 1 an tee 10 at the same time. After 9 holes we were told to wait 50 minutes for the back 9. The course is good. But we that regime we do not go anymore. I heard the lost a lot of members

Fabulous course great service right up until we arrived at the bar. The arrogant barman immediately told us he had been working since 7 am so was closing . We ordered beers but the lights were turned off. He then tried to over charge us and became irate. Security was called but our evening was lost. Very poor service for customers who had enjoyed all to that point.

Played there on Sunday , 5 hours 20 minute round , had to wait before every shot. There was no marshals to push people along. It was a very bad experience. Far to many people on the course.

4h45m is simply too long for a round of golf. Course in decent condition but greens not great (does NOBODY here repair their pitch marks!!). Back 9 more interesting than front 9. Great clubhouse, whole experience probably a bit overpriced.

Where to begin? I guess the pro shop experience is as good as any. My wife and I arrived and were told several times “water is free on the course”, we felt that was strange as we have played on some of the most exclusive golf courses in the world, free water is normal. We were guests at the St. Regis and told golf balls and tees were included with the club rentals.

During check in, my wife was told she needed to purchase a shirt with a collar, even though she had a collared pullover on with a more than appropriate golf shirt underneath. We were then informed we would need to buy water bottles to obtain the “free water” and golf balls were not included with the club rentals, fortunately I brought a few sleeves of my favorite balls. We were then reminded we would need to purchase tees. We ended up spending around 150 euros before even teeing off.

The course was beautiful and greens in good shape, except for the huge overgrown weeds near the tee boxes. We were paired up with a nice player who actually pulled out one of the 3ft weeds and left it next to the tee box as an example for the grounds crew.

At the turn we stopped by the snack shop, attendant was pleasant but had no ice for beverages and the only beer option was Heineken. We were given complimentary nuts in a paper coffee cup, that would have been great for water instead of the unwashed aluminum bottles we had been using from the pro shop.

I threw in a picture of the Lanai course in Hawaii to highlight a course that exemplifies the true guest experience.

Great service from caddy master and shop staff
However the course is in appalling condition apart from the greens
Very slow play, even a 5 ball was allowed on the course which slowed all play behind them and ruined the experience.
Well down the list of golf courses previously played in Spain and definitely won't be returning

Son Muntaner is a nice course, simply put. Nice pro shop with friendly staff, very nice caddy masters with a smile on their faces.

A good driving range with a lot of options, as long as you do not bring out your driver. Well managed, good restaurant - all in all, a very nice experience and I keep coming back.

The course offers a nice variety of holes, from long par-5´s to rather long par 3´s and a fair amount of different obstacles during a round. Suitable for both low and high handicappers. It was actually in the European Tour at a certain time, which you are constantly reminded of from the pro-shop to the flags on the course.

The course conditions in early February are what you can expect, grey grass overall, greenish on the fairways, and pretty OK greens.

Now, please be aware though that you should try to avoid playing on Saturday - the course is overflowed with young promising golfers and you do not feel that there is room for paying customers. We felt in the way and could hardly find a place to prepare for our round, the noise was immense and there were people all over the place.

Nice to see that golf is growing in Spain, not nice to be there in the midst.

Son Muntaner is a golf course you should play though, simply because it is worth the price during the winter period.

Condition of course was superb. Service from caddiemasters office was excellent. Facilities are first class. Food in the clubhouse was good enough as a snack and reasonably priced. Unfortunately,on our day of visiting, the service in the bar got it terribly wrong. Total confusion, poor communication and awful man management. Their system of billing to a table goes all wrong when you have 6 people sitting at one table and someone pays their share of the bill at the bar. With our table this was the case but the payment was not corrected when the bill came to the table, and this is when the arguments started. Yes, arguments!! Even the manager came to the table and argued. Totally not done. He didn't listen. The service after this to our table was very hostile. I hope they review their table service soon. Am sure they will. SM will not like their guests leaving with this memory of them. But I will definitely give them a visit again and hope this was a little blip.

Son Muntaner is a great golf club with some very interesting and challenging holes. We played the course just after a major storm hit the area so buggys where not allowed on the fairways but this didn't deter from the enjoyment of the course. A novel approach to avoiding the use of plastic bottles was the option to purchase a aluminium water holder for €5 and be able to refill with cold water via fountains. Staff where welcoming and the course, despite the heavy rainfall was well presented and in good condition. Highly recommended
