Beautiful, close to Parc De La Mar
We stayed at El Llorenc Parc de la Mar. So, when we walking into "Old Town" we often ended up at Placa de Cort. There is excellent Gelato at Giovanni's nearby. There is a variety of wonderful shops; ranging from tourist shops to Cartier. I got beautiful post card souvenirs at an I <3 Mallorca store, and window shopped at others. Overall, a great place to visit!

    A beautiful bustling location
A lovely plaza in itself. Splendid architecture on all sides if you care to sand and stare. It’s a shame we don’t do enough of that. Then there’s the olive tree. Is it really 600 years old. The trunk is easily over a metre or two in girth and it’s leaves and olives look as healthy as any olive tree. Imagine what it’s seen or who has seen it. It’s worth a visit to just stand under it and look up through the green to the blue of a clear sky and just ponder. Today they were adding strings of Christmas lights across the plaza. I suspect this will look enchanting when switched on.

We came across this plaza, as we had left the beach area earlier, and made our way into the central area of Palma. This plaza is very nice, with greenery/trees all around, shops and restaurants. Hubby and I had take-out crepes, so we sat on a small wall, to eat them, and hubby continued sitting there, while I shopped this plaza, and the next street. He enjoyed the people-watching, as it is a busy area!

Beautiful surrounding buildings around this Square with lots of detail, Nice places to have a coffee or a Glass of wine to take in the atmosphere, there's a lovely hotel called Hotel Cort that has outdoor seating and right in front of it is an Amazing Olive Tree I just wondering how old it with all twisting branches, I would love to know how old it is if anybody knows.

This is probably one of the more attractive squares in Palma. It's located right in front of the Palma Town Hall where they celebrate New Year's Eve. It's an attractive building. The architecture looks to be Baroque, but there is a whole side of the building that may be Gothic.

This is just a great place to relax. There's plenty of shade under the olive tree, and there are a couple of cafés near by. There were many people taking pictures of the tree, and admiring the old Town Hall. The ancient olive tree was transplanted in the middle of the square in 1999 as a symbol of peace. I don't know it's exact age, but it's at least over 600 years old and came from the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. It's a symbolic part of Palma that shouldn't be missed.

This is a fabulous small in the heart of the old town, ideally located within 5 of the cathedral and other attractions. There are a number of restaurants and bars with outdoor seating which are great for watching the world go by. There are a couple of traditional bakeries and ice cream shops in amongst the various tourist shops. Some grand buildings are adjacent to the square, well worth a visit and check out the ancient olive tree.

Nice square in Palma centre; a junction point of many nearby streets. Ancient olive tree planted here. Biblioteca library and bars located around. Good place to chill on an afternoon.

on a second visit for evening drinks, previous visit all was good no faults. couple of nights later you would have thought we'd gone to a different place, different staff staff who just couldn't be bothered, menu's dropped on our table which we initially found amusing but the menu was falling to bits and nobody came to offer any service, despite catching the eye of the waiter. wasn't too long before we got up and walked away

Must visit this part of the old town to get the feel of Palma. Paved with stones and surrounded by old buildings.
