Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fuerteventura is always good. It's said that we should find our happy place, and, for me that is Fuerteventura. The perfect opportunity to unwind and recharge the batteries

Friday 20th November and we drove the 76 kilometres from our hotel Riu Palace Tres Islas, near Corralejo to visit this beach.

We parked up in the appropriate area and walked the short journey through the narrow streets to the beach. Only residents can drive through the town.

Initially we we struck with the wild and rugged nature of the place. It is a long and expansive beach, roughly 270 metres long an 35 metres at its widest. It consists fine black volcanic sand and pebbles. It is flanked on both sides by cliffs and dramatic coastline.

We found it to be rather windy and the sea was rather rough and spectacularly crashing onto the beach and lashing the rocks and cliffs that surrounded the beach. There were no sunloungers or umbrellas on the beach. Only a few old rowing boats and an old pedalo lay beached in the sand, would not think it wise to use in the rough sea.

At the rear of the beach there are a number of restaurants and cafes.

To the right hand side of the beach, while facing the sea, is the pathway leading along the cliff to the various view points to see the incredible Caves of Ajuy and the scenery. It would be safe to say that the caves are the main attraction here and not the beach.

The black volcanic sand and the bright sunset make this beach something spectacular. We stopped to see the sun set after visiting the caves near by. A must see in the island.

Particular beach of volcanic sand. It is quite large and we saw it today with very few people. I also recommend visiting the caves.

Great view, beautiful black beach, a very small old fishing village, great waves, a wonderful sunset and of course the adventurous caves...definitely worth a trip

Black sand and a small beach compared to the others on the island, stones and rocks everywhere. The worst of all the beaches present. I would avoid going there

Superb visit to an idyllic place, the black sand gives an unreal, exotic appearance to experience once!
Caves nearby to cool off, and always a good little restaurant not far away
